NDSU players owned up to it and didn't have a university official lead them by the hand to a big time donor. Penalties are usually lighter when you take it like a man. Actually I would have taken that. If Coach Bohl benched them a quarter, it would have at least been some type of punishment and acknowledgement on the coaches part that these kids did something wrong. Doing absolutely nothing sends the wrong message is all I'm saying. I think NDSU has a great team and a great program and they are going to be tough to beat this year...my only point in all of it is that they should have been punished in some capacity from the coach or AD.

As to the NDSU team as a whole, so they won some games. Several other teams have too. So they won one by a wide margin. So did the Griz. They play a pretty good defense, but typically their offense couldn't score 20 against a decent DIII team. The Bison play in a cream puff conference guaranteed to get them into the playoffs. Otherwise, pity the poor fools; The Bison have to live in Fargo. The Bison play inside a shiny quansett hut. The Bison jerseys copy the Green Bay Packers, unfortunately this has confused their fans into believing they are the Packers. So far ND State has been lucky. So far the Grizzlies have been sloppy. When we meet later this season both of those will be reversed. Bank on it.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. NDSU's offense is one of the highest ranked in the country. The Missouri Valley is consistently one of the toughest top to bottom. They have won 6 national championships as a conference. The Big Sky has won 5. Also since moving up to the FCS, NDSU has a 6-3 record against FBS teams. How many FBS teams has Montana beat in their whole history? The Fargodome is won of the loudest stadiums in the country, both NFL and FBS alike. The building is beautiful and the amenities are amazing. Have you ever been to Fargo? Metro population of 250,000. There is also a division 2 and division 3 school across the river. Combined college population of 30,000.

I have respect for Montana and their fans, but I hate idiots.

I wish Jakeweezy would not have said what he did, he lowered himself to the level that represents the culture of your fan base.

Based on my 1st hand experience with both cultures, we deal with comments like Jakeweezy in an appropriate manner when confronting them in person, your culture encourages such comments and behavior. People like him in your culture are looked up to as heroes.

If North Dakota State is just lucky, I sure wish we could find some of that "luck".
I do agree that I would like to meet them later this season because that would mean that we found a way to get that far. Say what you want about North Dakota State, but they are taking care of business in way we have not for 10+ years.....
I just don't think they are that "lucky", they have put together a darn fine program.

Eh, going back to last season they're 19-1 with two FBS wins, and a bunch of dominating defensive performances against top FCS teams. NDSU has got to be the overwhelming favorite to repeat at this point

All of you on here that think Bison fans are so bad really need to come to Fargo when we play in a couple years or hopefully this year and walk around our tailgait area.....let me tell ya you'll be treated like kings, free food, free booze and a lot of good football talk. All you have to do is look at posts from teams we played in the playoffs last year about how great they were treated in Fargo..these on AGS etc. I mean we have a few idiot fans as does any program...I refer to your own Jakeweezy or whatever his name is. Overall I feel our programs and fans are a lot alike, in that there is loads of tradition present, a great enthusiastic fan base(That Travels!) and just an overall great pride in our respective programs. I guarantee once you have been to a game here, you'll have a different outlook on our fan base. It is for these reasons I was really pulling for you guys to get to Frisco, because with our two great fan bases Frisco would have imploded! Good luck the rest of the way and we hope to see ya this year in the stale, sterile FargoDome! :lol:

I don't know why I bother, but for supposedly knowing a lot about Fargo, you really don't know a lot about Fargo.

Quick problems:
F-M metro - the previous poster was exaggerating, but not by that much. 2011 US Census estimates put the Fargo Combined Statistical Area at just a touch over 235k. The Fargo Metropolitan Statistical Area is officially estimated at a bit over 212k.

Colleges across the river - NAIA? What are you smoking? Minnesota State University - Moorhead(MSUM, aka Moorhead State) is DII and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference(NSIC). Concordia College is a small Lutheran DIII school that's a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference(MIAC). The closest NAIA school to Fargo is 60 miles away in Mayville, ND(Mayville State).

The Fargodome - The FD can either be incredibly loud or incredibly stale depending on the crowd. It takes a lot of noise to get the air vibrating. Until that point is reached, the dome feels dead. Once that point is achieved, however, the sound waves reinforce one another and the volume hits 115-125db; painful range. Unfortunately, it doesn't get to that level often. Normally it's because the Bison are blowing out their opponent so badly that there's no reason to get worked up. That was the case with Youngstown State this weekend. There were some nice noise spikes early in the game, but the blowout kept the overall level down. The Georgia Southern game last year, on the other hand, now that was a rocking dome. The place got loud early and stayed that way for the whole game. My headache didn't go away for two days and I was in a quiet area. If you've only shown up for a couple random games, then you really don't know what you're talking about here.



And you still don't have a clue as to what really happened that night at FM Billiards and Gastropub.

I really like the NDSU football program, and their fan base for a variety of reasons!

I don't know how their fans were before all their recent success, but regardless of that, I can't disagree with your thought on their fans being dicks! At this point, IMO, the NDSU fan base seems to be a mirrored image of the Griz fan base...back when we were beatin' everyone in the BSC, and making decent playoff runs every year...
