North Dakota state

this team has held their first 5 opponents to a combined 42pts........this is mostly the same team crushed so. georgia and held sam houston to 7 pts in the playoffs last year. coach bohl is a defensive genius willing to think outside the box for each game.
to me this really proves that coaching is mostly what motivates and dictates the play on the field....therefore coaching is directly related to taking responsibility for a teams performance.....it is true that players will make plays based on habits, positioning, and ability etc but it is the coaches to help them counter their shortcomings to be better.
looking forward to seeing the game against SUU to see if we have made any secondary adjustments to counter their offensive attack.

Probably the two biggest issues impacting the Griz program. It will take at least three years to recover from IMO.

I believe your eGriz blinders are on. NDSU beat us in 2003 as a Div. II program. They have a winning record against FBS teams since joining the FCS. We would, or possible will, get rocked by this team. I prey we don't have to go to the Fargo Dome. McKinney would have a long game.

Yes....NDSU is in a great area in terms of recruiting as well as tv markets. They are the premier program w/in their state, and would make a great addition to the MWC, or Big 10.

I agree that NDSU is a great team, but I don't put much stock in their win/loss ratio vs FBS opponents because many of those have come against Minnesota. Minnesota is consistently among the worst teams in the FBS. Colorado state isn't much better. :twocents:

Annoying fans are one thing.

I have had the privilege of doing volunteer work with players who seem to be outstanding young men who are doing the right thing.I have done volunteer work with some of their “fans” who had no idea of my college sports rooting interest. You sit and listen to them say; “We want to go to South Dakota to harass their fans” or “wait until the Griz get to Fargo”.

I have also experienced first hand over the top behavior by "fans" that include leaving stupid voice mail messages for my wife and drunks harassing 80 year old griz fans.

I have heard 2nd hand comments from other griz fans that have had their spouse's work place toilet papered in the North Dakota State team's colors just because the spouse was a griz fan.

Reality is compared to Washington Griz Stadium they are stuck playing in a venue where they cannot get any more "fans" in the place and is a dull stale environment suitable as a cure for insomniacs.

Harassment of other team’s fans is encouraged and part of their culture.

I have no idea what kind of a product they put on the field. From in person contact with some of the young men who play for them, I have nothing but respect for how they conduct themselves. The “fans” I have run across are at best classless jerks.

Outstanding young men who are doing the right thing? You must not have spent any time with their 10 players who just pleaded guilty in a court of law for voter/legislation issues last week. 10 of their players (most of them starters by the way) worked with a 3rd Party company to collect signatures to challenge some issues in the ND Legislature. The company hired them and paid them money to do so (which was illegal in its own right)....they offered bonus $$ if the players got a set amount of signatures per day. So the 10 of them just started going through the phone book and making up false signatures and turning them in. They got busted and ended up pleading guilty in the court of law. NDSU got them represented with the top lawyer in the state, they all got a hand slap, and none of them got suspended or any discipline from the football program or AD. I lost some respect for Coach Bohl after that and the NCAA. These are players that should at least face a 1 game suspension.....for being retarded if nothing else. Coach Bohl has had his fair share of drugs, violence, sexual assault, and other issues from these "outstanding young men who are doing the right thing" for years now.
 
I too felt there should have been some sort of discipline for these young men. Of course, perhaps there was, "internally" -- and none of us would ever know about that. :roll:

Your generalizations are about as bad as those involving JJ. The 10 players paid for their attorney, Mr. Quick, out of their own pocket at a full fee, which is rather expensive for an attorney of his stature. The judge sentenced each player to 360-days of unsupervised probation, a 300-dollar legislative fee, 50-hours of community service and a 25-dollar community service fee. One player, Sam Ojuri, did get suspended, but not from this infraction alone. Head Coach Craig Bohl, NDSU president Dean Bresciani,and Athletic Director Gene Taylor also did an internal investigation to see if the punishment of this particular infraction required further internal punishment. It did not. The legal system punishment fit the crime.

Sometimes there is more to punishment that not playing football.

Not only do the players have no respect for election laws, but the NDSU coaches don't care that they forged other people's names on legal documents....no consequences at all.

So exactly like I said, these 10 players committed an illegal crime, were charged with it in a court of law, got slapped on the wrist with hardly any legal punishment whatsoever (if the stuff you described above is a punishment in your mind I would disagree....that's a joke of a punishment), and then get to continue to play football with no warranted suspension. You pretty much just solidified my entire point.....nothing happened to any of these guys and it should have! Heck, we have a player off our team right now who has not even been found guilty in the court of law. These guys were and are not in any trouble. And you are seriously kidding yourself if you think for a second these kids paid for that attorney out of their own pockets....college kids who can barely afford a pizza or ramen noodles for the weekend are going to each come up with a high-powered attorney fee...nice try brother.
 
Hey guys lighten up. Those ten NDSU players (cheaters one and all) were charged, convicted, and given punishment by the court. That is that. Though if they ask for your absentee ballot, just say no.

As to the NDSU team as a whole, so they won some games. Several other teams have too. So they won one by a wide margin. So did the Griz. They play a pretty good defense, but typically their offense couldn't score 20 against a decent DIII team. The Bison play in a cream puff conference guaranteed to get them into the playoffs. Otherwise, pity the poor fools; The Bison have to live in Fargo. The Bison play inside a shiny quansett hut. The Bison jerseys copy the Green Bay Packers, unfortunately this has confused their fans into believing they are the Packers. So far ND State has been lucky. So far the Grizzlies have been sloppy. When we meet later this season both of those will be reversed. Bank on it.

Maybe they should have been benched for the first quarter as punishment to take a page out of the Grizzlies playbook. You should compare the situations. NDSU players owned up to it and didn't have a university official lead them by the hand to a big time donor. Penalties are usually lighter when you take it like a man. I guess since all NDSU fans are dicks, enjoy your "IF ONLY" and "WHAT IF" season.
