The Griz D continues to be below average for our standards and this week will be no different. What scares me is if UND can put together long scoring drives, it could limit the amount of times Jensen & Co have the ball. Griz will pull this one out, but I think it will be closer than most would want it to be.

GRIZ - 38

University of North Dakota - 28

Prediction is predicated on two things:
1. We can move the ball effectively and eat up some clock.
2. The defense actually contains their QB.

Score: Griz 41 Hawks 28

They have two really good running backs and a very mobile QB. Our two road wins demonstrated one thing for sure, we can't stop a mobile QB. However, We can control a run game making them have to pass which we don't defend very well either. But because they will have to be forced to pass, our DB's will get some TO's.
Griz win
44-27

Yeah, it's been frustrating watching those QBs escape for-sure sacks and convert 3rd and longs. The crazy thing is how close we have been to actually sacking those QBs and they manage to escape it. I'm hoping the defense figures out how to adjust and finish plays to not allow QBs to escape pressure.

Quarterback "escapes" and runs are going to kill us if we don't fix it ASAP. Athletic and even semi-athletic QBs will gash us for 10-15 yards at will if we continue the way the D has been playing. Hoping we get a "spy" on mobile qbs, or at least finish the tackle. Solid tackling will help on about 50% of long qb runs.

The Griz pin their ears back on defense and sack Studsrud 6 times (Sims and Schye each get 2). They also force two turnovers and limit the Hawks to 4 of 13 on third downs. Meanwhile, the Griz offense plays smart, continues its red zone success, and spreads the ball around. 9 different receivers catch a pass as Jensen throws for 350 yards and 3 TDs. JLM amasses 200 total yards with 125 yards receiving, 75 punt return yards, and a receiving TD. Griz roll, big time.

Grizzlies 51
Fighting Hawks 23

I love this prediction. Lots of detail. I hope a lot of these plays happen or get close. :thumb:
GO GRIZ!

EVERY game is closer than I want it to be.

Hard call for me on this pick. I so bad want to seec consistency on D. Let’s hope the D worked on talking this week.

I also hope the Offense can keep the positive momentum going with this being Jensen 2nd start.

I think this game closer than many hope for and bugs still working out.

Griz 38
UND 35

Let's see, UND's defense is decimated with injuries and the Griz D plays like they are. Get ready for another shootout folks. Griz 45 Hawks 41

Ha, well, after the game is done it'll be fun to look back on my prediction and see how little I actually know about football! :|
