Some idiot at the University has once again dredged up the defeatist "WE BELIEVE" campaign. "We Believe" is for losers, like the Cats coming to Missoula, or the Little Sisters of the Poor being in the Super Bowl. UM does this every time we go to the Chipper.

How about showing some confidence in the team - "Go Griz" works, as does "Kick butt" or "We got this", "Year of the Bear" - there lots of choices that don't sound like we need prayers to have a chance.

Is this someone in the UM Foundation office that doesn't understand sports? Sheesh!

Nice upbeat and supportive post. Maybe you might consider taking the place of the Montana "idiot" you chewed up in your posting. Your thoughts are so superior.

I think it’s perfect for what this season has been. I know many on here “me included” did not believe we would be here after the NAU game.

Ditto....

I heard this phrase was chosen over “We Don’t Believe”, “We Hope You Lose So We Can be Right”, and “Nothing Matters Because We’re Just Particles” which finished second through fourth, respectively.

I truly don’t understand how Griz fans: 1 Weren’t able to look at the team, i.e. the players on the team, and the coaches, and look at the games. 2 See that the team hadn’t yet found a qb, or the best qb (although there was potential at qb). 3 See that the D was pretty good and would get better. 4 See some or even good or very good potential. 5 Realize that all of the main goals were still achievable with hard work and week to week improvement. 6 Each future game was winnable and the tougher games came later and gave the team time to prepare. 7 And enjoy the season, whatever it may bring. 8 There was no way this team was bad.

This was all so obvious to me. Not that I was necessarily predicting or thinking more than a possible deep playoff run. Maybe it helped that I didn’t see the NAU game, as I was watching Ireland squeak by South Africa (the eventual rugby World Cup winners) in front of 78,000 screaming and singing fans in Paris’ big stadium.

Agree, it was very difficult to accept or understand the negativity of so-called fans when the Griz were 3-1 with the bulk of the season yet in front of them. The long season has its ups and downs and it is nothing but character weakness to bail out at the time of a down. Especially with the known talent of the team and the coaching staff. Now after this 10 game run those same folks have jumped back on the bandwagon like they were there all year. The calls to fire BH were nothing short of pure stupidity. Eating crow is not enough to restore credibility. No surprise to have a repeat act at the next little down. Win or lose in Frisco, this has been a special team and I will not be one to dismiss their chances. Much like 1995, a Griz team that had lost twice, playing Marshall at their house in front of 32,000.

717, I was pretty critical of your posting. For that I am sorry. I did. not want to disparage your posting, but I did. I am glad you are a Griz fan.

Go Griz!
