Non Scholarship Programs

Nah, personally I don't care if the griz are a BAD team this year because fact of the matter is that they're just not at the same level as the Cats. You'll all come around to that as the season progresses.
You and several other people have been in this thread calling an objectively good QB bad simply because you think it makes the Griz look worse.

Wat? I never said anything whatsoever about the Butler QB being bad. I just think it's dumb to talk about how he's the best QB the griz will see all year, after one game\performance. The griz are going to see several QBs that are really, really good - including a couple over in Bozeman. And before everyone jumps here and says Tommy and Sean are not good passers, please just watch the game against UT Tech first.

It's good to see Dartmouth FINALLY had a player on their roster who was good enough to compete at the highest level...even though he had to leave to do it.

While I wish EWU was in the same boat as the Griz, trying to prop up your opponent after a win, the argument that these Non-Scholarship schools are competitive is somewhat laughable. Butlers conference has 2 wins in the last 10 seasons in the FCS playoffs, both by San Diego, the conference has an average loss margin of 30 points in the FCS playoffs in those 10 years. Just sayin....

“ A dozen former Ivy players appeared in NFL games in the 2022 season and Penn’s Justin Watson ‘18 was the last one standing, catching two passes for first downs during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVII victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Which other opponent qb is on Payton Watch List?

Well let's go with Tommy Mellott, for one.

So, just like Big South, NEC, OVC, etc., etc.

Seems to me, they were damn well coached and executed well. In my opinion, we're not considering, maybe they were better than we expected and they're overlooked.

Maybe they were overlooked. Maybe UM was just working out the kinks with a lot of new personnel. But trying to make them and their conference and non-scholarship football out to be higher quality than what it is... that's silly. Just my opinion, but Griz fans puffing them up makes it seem like the expectations for the program have significantly eroded.

Weird, I remember when San Diego upset Cal Poly in the playoffs not too long ago. The same CP team who upset SDSU that same year. Same Pioneer conference as Butler.

About a dozen Dartmouth players went to the portal in 2023. Mostly graduates, who can’t play in Ivies by rule.

The Ivy League has sent some good players to the NFL over the years.

2 playoff wins in 10 years. Is that the kind of conference that you think should be competitive with UM?

Well… that was 2016 and it was San Diego’s first playoff win in their 61 year history. It was also San Diego, not Butler… and as you said, it was an upset. If I remember correctly, UM blasted them the very next round anyways.

This is getting dumb. Even for this pages standard. It’s okay to say last week wasn’t exactly the textbook blow out Montana wants in September to get the pollsters excited before October rolls around.

But ya know what. If this page wants to be stoked about beating Butler… what do I care. Have at it!

People are saying that. Most people think we need to do better.

You guys are the ones getting your panties all twisted (on your rival's message board lmao) because some Griz fans complimented the Butler QB and said they're maybe a better team than Northwestern State was last season.

And to piggyback do you learn more from a team that challenges you or one you blow out without putting up much of a fight?

Well, I know one thing for certain: Butler is head and shoulders better, much tougher both mentally and physically, and is considerably better coached then the eastern team who came to Missoula last year.

UM doesn’t care about blowout wins for polls. This page is about countering trolls like you saying Butler was bad, which isn’t accurate.
