Who exactly do you think you are?! I find it hilarious that you think you are the judge and jury of what makes a "good fan". In reality, it is out of touch fans like you willing to accept mediocrity that are ruining the program.

I’m a bit more than a fan. And far more in tune with the program than anyone here. Just sick of the pathetic bashing by people that literally know nothing. Even the purported video evidence is an assumption not based in reality.

He leaves heavy hints as to his identity.
Clues. Connect the dots, it game time. High opinion of himself, low opinion of everyone else. Knows the program better than thou. Blood in the trenches... No need to do this, really. Why the disguise?

Rules say you can't do this without prior approval. D'ja get it? You mu$t be very influential.

Didn’t look like a whole lot of “brotherhood and camaraderie” when the entire O-line watches their QB run for his life and then walks by him laying on the ground and doesn’t even bother to help him up.

Perhaps you should talk to the team. You clearly don’t get it.
There you are dude. Everyone has been waiting for you to come back, rub our tummies and tell us that everything is good. We're still better than the cats and we would have been national champions last year if only our QB hadn't gotten hurt.
Tell us again how everything is going well.

Make a post mad about "whining" while actually whining about people's legitimate criticisms about the team and the way the coaching staff has performed in particular over the last 2 years...bold strategy cotton.

You can call those who have legitimate criticisms fair weather fans all you want, better to be that then someone with their head buried in the sand whose content to watch this program continue to spiral in the wrong direction. 6 years and what does this coaching staff have to show for it? Clear and undeniable regression.

Attacking players is not legitimate criticism. Perhaps if you have bled in the trenches, been a part of a brotherhood and felt team camaraderie together you might understand. I said nothing about the coaching. Read the subject line!!

I laughed...lame.

Sorry, not sorry. I went to EVERY SINGLE GRIZ GAME in NAU from 1994 to 2012. Didn’t miss a single one. NEVER, not even ONCE, did I see anything remotely resembling what I witnessed on Saturday. You think MY BITCHING gives the school and team a bad look? That’s fudge rich. The “bad look” was on the field and from the coaches Saturday. I’m done being told that we, as fans, can’t criticize the coaches or the players.

You are one of the worse. Program doesn’t need “fans” like you. You just feel entitled.

Rating fans? A good fan wants what is best for the program. A good fan is a realist. A good fan doesn’t see the team through maroon colored lenses. A good fan deserves the right to question.

When you invest in a program, a lot of the “good” fans on here do, you have ownership. Ownership gives you every right to ask for the best of everyone on that team. Ownership gives you every right to complain .

If you don’t like the complaining on here, social media, on Main Street, in the bar, or across the state then turn them all off or fix the problem.

The Griz are like an 80 year old that was once an amazing athlete, though they try to hang on to the past, the glory days, the talent has eroded

And I'm sick of the sugarcoaters criticizing those who point out the massive flaws rather than acknowledging the massive flaws themselves. :thumb:

And if you're so "in tune with the program", perhaps you can give us an insider's perspective as to why the entire O-line appeared to quit, and why they appear to dislike Vidlak, and why they appear to ignore the coaches? THAT is what give the team and the program a "bad look"...

Our resident clown is back! I would know that self-important, condescending tone anywhere. "A bit more than a fan" - good god the delusion is real.

The only thing you have any special insight on is the smell of Bobby's jock strap. Better get your whiffs in now while you still can cause this ship is sailing.

This will not be a popular post but I’m tired of reading a bunch bs about how y’all think anybody on this team quit. I see a bunch whiners that are clueless about what really happened.

I challenge any of you to get off your couches, put down the drinks and play for a full game at 7000’. If any of you had any understanding you would understand that the team was gassed by the 4th quarter. Not hard to see or understand. Coaches simply didn’t rotate personnel enough, especially on the defensive and offensive lines. Look at the OL between plays. On the video that everyone is bitching about players giving up, it is obvious they are clearly fatigued from both their body language and reaction.

These young men are student athletes. Nobody wants to win more than they do. They put in the time and effort to succeed and represent. For those that think any of them quit, you reside between an idiot and an imbecile on the nitwit scale.

NOBODY quit on this team!!! Except for a bunch of you fair weather fans. Be glad you’re not a No Colorado fan. Wait, maybe y’all should be. Teach you about humility.

What you post on here is read by parents, family members, some players and potential recruits. Your bitching gives the school, city and state a bad look.

Now you may return to your whining, where clearly 70% of seem to be happy.

Press asked Bobby what he thought of the elevation before the game he said something like “well that doesnt really become a factor unless you are coming from sea level”. Anyone that skis can tell ya there is a difference when you change 3700’ elevation. Not a huge deal but definitely something you can tell affects you.

This was a social experiment to see how anger and hate can be triggered so easily by something people don’t agree with.

I see two types of posters…..
— The passionate fans that are emotionally invested
— Those that immediately attack

No this is not Hoops, I don’t even know the guy. Sort of funny that many of you assumed that immediately. My bad, as I was trying to relay an angry parent - and it was missed.

The irony though is that WestCoast is posting here under his new name, and Growler under one of his old ones.

I do have a bit more confidence than most, and expect a playoff berth - not everyone agrees, which is fine.

I was bored last night. This username is dead. Thread can be locked.

in another life I was a fairly competitive long distance runner and cyclist. I never found it an issue going up to 6000-7000 feet coming from 3300 feet. I also found that generally when I was racing it was best to get there no earlier than the day before. ie unless you have the luxury of being there a week or more to acclimate it always seemed getting there only a day early was best. I looked at the number of plays and there was only 61 offensive plays so I have to go with coach on this as far as elevation goes.

Be yourself. I really don't care who any poster is, this is an anonymous board. Post your opinions. No need to play games. No wonder posters leave this site.

If the coaches and players allow what is said about them on egriz to affect their performance or hurt their feelings….They are not cut out to carry on the Pride and Tradition of the Montana Grizzlies.

Easy as that.

And,………he’s back. Just with a new name. What a tool!

If true what many are saying is the name change.....it is BS. He shouldn't be allowed to change it AGAIN! Mods???? If it is true man up and stick with the posts you have made and admit you were wrong not cower behind a new name.

I like how a new poster who makes good points, makes a lot of sense, and has inside knowledge, is compared to me. That was a good compliment. I didn’t see or follow the NAU game, and could have told the board that no one quit, there’s no locker room issue, one bad game and some mistakes doesn’t make a season or call for a coaching change. Glancing at the stats indicates the o-line didn’t have a good game or was bad. That needs to be fixed asap. Like the OP said, the team is probably fine, but they need to get back at it fast and strong. Vidlak seems to be getting experience and improving. We shall see. That’s the fun of sport.

I find it interesting that I was one of the posters who was cautious on the season and didn’t make predictions, other than Griz would beat Cats. Then was a lukewarm start and one bad loss, a bunch of posters panic, start saying stupid things, and want to fire everyone. Another sign of not knowing the game.

I wonder if the team took NAU lightly, after
looking at the records and Utah Tech games. Then couldn’t turn it around when NAU got going and made some bad and uncharacteristic mistakes. Not blocking a defender coming up the middle is a bad and uncharacteristic mistake. So is not covering a receiver.

When I get back from France, I suppose I will have to straighten out some of the dumb threads and posts. The Rugby World Cup and France have been great. Inattended the Ireland v South Africa match during the NAU game. Nos. 1 and 2 teams in world. Almost 80,000 in attendance
Had my wallet pickpocketed on metro to game.

Some of you dummies had better get your fake helmets on when I get back. I haven’t been reading posts, but just saw some threads.

Congrats to the very knowledgeable OP. Very nice posting.

Except none of the issues you mention are "uncharacteristic". It's all become VERY common. Unblocked defenders. Opponents' WR's running free with no Griz defender within 7 yards. New to the equation this game was the entire offensive line quitting in the middle of a play and walking off the field while the QB was running for his life. "Didn't have a good game or was bad" is about the biggest understatement of the century. EIGHTEEN yards rushing (a whopping 0.8 ypc) against an 0-3 team that just got blasted by transitional Utah Tech AT HOME. 2/12 on third down conversions against an 0-3 team that just gave up FIFTY POINTS to transitional Utah Tech. SEVEN SACKS given up against an 0-3 team that just got blasted by transitional Utah Tech at home. Zero sacks for our vaunted D. Zero pass breakups. ZERO QB hurries. 5.4 yards per PLAY given up.

And sure, Vidlak is getting experience...running for his life. This Griz team ain't coming within 50 points of the 'Scats. Hate to say it, but it's true.

And if the team truly DID "take NAU lightly", then that and that alone is a fireable offense on the coaching staff, IMHO. I mean, how many times are you gonna buy Bobby's bullshit before it starts smelling, even for YOU? There was ZERO room for error in this schedule with the D2 on the docket...Now they must literally win every remaining game but one. I predict, at most, 3 more victories.
