Noah Scarver

Looks a little like Zach Wagenmann did coming out of HS. Those 6'5" DE's with speed and quickness seem to work out pretty well.

Welcome to Griz Nation Noah. Your gonna love Missoula and The University :thumb: Not to mention the tunnel run onto Hoyt Field...........Go Griz!!

I think Mick and Co. have things going in the right direction.

Yes they do. The key is to get the bandwagoners to settle down, the sky IS NOT falling!
I keep telling myself the same thing about my Southern Cal Trojans... Top 3 recruiting classes every year and lots of pub and hype. What's missing?

Just read this on facebook:

Finally can shout it from the roof tops....My nephew Noah Scarver has committed to the University of Montana in Missoula! Think I am going to learn to love college football. Congrats Noah! Go Grizzlies!

I haven't seen any confirmation in the Minneapolis Star Tribune or St. Paul Pioneer Press. Anybody see any credible evidence of this?

Here is another Minnesota kid who should get a look see from the Griz. He was the 2012 Mr. Football and 2012-2013 Gatorade POY for football in Minnesota. He plays in one of the best football conferences in the state of Minnesota and had great numbers.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound senior running back and cornerback rushed for 1,173 yards and 16 touchdowns on 104 carries this past season, leading the Orioles (6-4) to the Class 6A postseason. The 2012 Minneapolis Star Tribune Metro Offensive Player of the Year, Tusler also caught 18 passes for 243 yards and three scores. Defensively, he contributed with 35 tackles and eight interceptions for a unit that surrendered just 11.1 points per game.
Tusler has maintained a 3.54 GPA in the classroom. A devoted member of his church community, he has volunteered locally as a Sunday School Teacher and as a youth football and basketball coach in addition to donating his time to an area daycare center.
“Bridgeport Tusler is the best player we saw this year and the best I’ve seen in recent memory,” said Jeff Ferguson, head coach at Totino Grace High, “In addition to his obvious physical talent, he is an extraordinary competitor and he plays with an effort and physicality that is very unusual. He is outstanding in three phases as a running back, a defensive back and a returner. He is incredibly versatile.”
Tusler remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.

Bridgeport Tusler, RB, Osseo.

Class of 2013 - Washburn TE Noah Scarver has committed to Montana, according to coach Giovan Jenkins. fb.me/GmllXr6h

So there appears to be about 48 students suited up for Washburn in the hudl video. What class is this school in?

Washburn is in Class 4A which includes schools with enrollments from 512 to 961. This class is probably close to Class A in Montana.

Noah is a legit player, we really liked him. he was set on walking on a U of Minn, but Montana full ride will let him not have to pay for school. good for him.

Did you guys notice how he said Western Michigan was his "first D1 offer" despite already being offered by three different FCS schools?

I know I'm beating a dead horse but lots of you need to be reminded of the perception of FCS. Even our recruits think we are Division 2

Congrats, guys, that's a great get. Even if it pisses me off, that's awesome. I don't know why people hate on Coach Mick so much. That guy could take more chew in one day than the Outlaw Josie Wales could take in two weeks. The program speaks for itself on many levels, but the coaches still have to do their jobs recruiting. It looks like he has. Good for him and good for the program.

But what do you think and what do you know? Who cares what they think - no top level, 4 or 5 star kid is coming to Division 2 or the FCS right out of high school and the lower, no star kids aren't getting recruited by the Division 1 or FBS schools. People usually end up where they are supposed to.

The Missoulian indicated that it was Ty Gregorak who recruited Scarver, which might mean that UM like W. Mich and some of the other schools originally wanted Scarver to play defense. But it was Gregorak who did the visit, the initial calls, etc. Some of the speculation on this board was that Hynson was the connection to this unusual recruiting area for UM.

Gregorak's son and ex-spouse live in the Minneapolis area. Maybe he has other connections.
