No season captains for the Griz - game by game

Thought this was interesting. Bobby Hauck just told us at his press conference that the Griz will not have season-long elected captains. Instead, they will have game to game captains. I find this interesting for several reasons, but I'll save those opinions for ESPN or the podcast. I will say that I think this could be a good idea even if its outside the status quo.

Bobby said it's the way the NFL does it, for whatever that's worth.

What do you think?

He also said it was what the seniors wanted to do - which I think is cool that he's following their direction on it.

Yeah, because what the nfl does never works....

I love it. One thing that it allows for is, say, Northern California guys to be captains when we play at sacto, or Washington guys when we play at ewoooo. I think it's terrific. Which, since growler hates it, you know is accurate.

Maybe it’s been mentioned, but has anyone ever notice how the captains don’t really get to run out of the tunnel? It seems consensus from players, that running out of the tunnel is one of the most exciting parts of being a Griz. Maybe this is a way to make sure there aren’t 4-5 players who miss out on that during the year.

I think that's just Colter recording on his Motorola Razr.

In fact, it's a four-channel H6 with XLR cables directly in to a box connected to the mic....and a Rode microphone attached to the Cannon camera the video is shot on.
