No more Mick and Gurns?

The topic is not Sundberg, it's Scott Gurnsey. Who made the decision? Why? The OFFICIAL line will be a personnel decisión, therefore, no comment. Stonewalling, by UM, Learfield, KGVO, or whomever. Griz2k hit it on the head, Mick & Gurns had credibility. What do we have now? Credibility has been traded for what?

I knew it. Close the borders! ;)

wiki says : Credibility online has become an important topic since the mid-1990s. This is because the web has increasingly become an information resource. The Credibility and Digital Media Project @ UCSB[2] highlights recent and ongoing work in this area, including recent consideration of digital media, youth, and credibility. In addition, the Persuasive Technology Lab[3] at Stanford University has studied web credibility and proposed the principal components of online credibility and a general theory called Prominence-Interpretation Theory.[4]

And if anyone believes Engstrom was involved in this decision, they're more baked than 420 in Denver on April 20th at 4:20 pm.

Mick and Gurns were very popular on the GRIZ radio network, for a long time. Very entertaining. Why would Gurns be demoted to a fluff bimbette position in the parking lot? I postulated an explanation, based on events over the past 3-4 years. What is your explanation?
This. I am very disappointed that Gurns will no longer be doing color.

Learfield does not make these decisions. They work for the athletics department and they don't really care who calls the games. Their number one client and partner is the athletic department and changes like this don't happen unless someone on the inside wants a change. Folks in Plano, TX that run Learfield don't care who calls games in Missoula or Tuscaloosa or State College or Madison or Norman or in any of the other 100+ schools that they work with on multimedia rights deals.

There is no doubt that Gurns has a lot more going on in his life now with his family and his own kids. Especially during the fall.

Sundberg is great on the radio and he's been a part of the football broadcasts for years already as the sideline guy. He's also been the color guy on BB broadcasts for years. It's not like some outsider is coming in and joining the team.

Mick-Greg have very good chemistry already.

Instead of just announcing a change, they could have explained it. Gurnsey could have been quoted on how excited he is to be out of the booth and into the parking lots with the tailgaters. Mick could expound on how great the change will be, something like:
""I'm very excited about our new commentary team and the new feel it will provide our listeners," said Nick Garner, General Manager of Montana media rights holders, Grizzly Sports Properties."
What we got is silence. A vacuum, which nature abhors. Without facts, speculation will fill that vacuum. The silence is deafening. People afraid to speak up, for one reason or another. Get you orders and falll in line. The ass kissing never stops. Who's ass you got your nose into, Everett? Or is it plural.

Gurnsey and I share the same first name and were both named after the same song. Pretty sure I remember him telling a story on air years ago about hearing the song for the first time in Rockin' Rudy's and referring to the song as "gay". I about shot beer through my nose.

Good grief.

Maybe Scott doesn't want the reason he stepped out of the booth made public. Maybe it's none of your damn business.

As for my nose, I try to keep it solidly where it belongs, in things that concern me. You should consider doing likewise. And definitely double up on the tinfoil.
