UNC killing them 70-52. This really makes me question how the GRIZ have started 1-3 in conference? We should not have lost to Idaho State, and should have split with UNC Weber. UNC is playing great on both ends againts Weber State. However, they did not play that well against us, we beat ourselves.

As for the Weber State game, we could not close the game out.

Nice game against Weber State, Way to go UNC!

Comparing scores in basketball is pretty amateur way of predicting anything to be honest. There are matchups to look at, there are injuries and sickness, many other variables to take into consideration. I agree the Griz game at ISU was winnable, but the Griz played well..less than 10 Turnovers, good FG and FT percentage, rebounded well...etc, but you should give ISU a little credit too. This is the best ISU team in years, despite the W-L record. Did you know they had the 39th best schedule in the country as of last week? They start 4 seniors and have added a quality PG.

UNC has proven over and over they are for real. At this point of the season they are odds on favorite to win the BSC, but sometimes teams peak early. The BSC isn't over yet, and frankly, the only real important thing is winning the BSC tourney. Homecourt certainly helps, but the last Griz BSC tourney title was on the road too.

I would wager that the Griz will be a factor before this is over.

In order for the Big Sky Conference tournament to be important you have to qualify for it.

At 10-6 MT looks pretty impressive.

If the season would end today, (it did not) Idaho State would have the tie breaker and MT, NAU, and Sac would be out.

Montana is very close looking at the scores and stats. Michael Taylor (sprained thumb) is the best hope for some upside. Raason Young also could really get it going. It does not appear that McGillis and Staudacher are going to improve on what they do. Selvig??

Johnson will get it going again and Qvale is fine.

PSU 2-0
NCU 3-1
WSU 3-1
MSU 3-1
EWU 1-1
ISU 1-3
MT 1-3
SAC 1-3
NAU 1-3

I'm in a downer mood on my beloved Griz and think we are in danger on not making the tourney. We often don't seem motivated at home and that has been going on for years. We could easily lose one this weekend and then we hit the road. Granted we played well on the road early but we have regressed whether due to injury or coaching and preparation. The addition of Roper reeks of desperation. Almost like the coaches just woke up and figured out Stauds isn't going to get his shot, McGillis isn't going to have that "breakout game" and Tinkle has not developed or figured out how to use Young, Selvig or Ward....and when they look down the bench they think they have nobody to go to. So they add Roper. Great.
How did we get here? It seems with the HUGE offensive improvement in Qvale and the addition addition of Cherry , AJ would be having a record setting year and scoring should be a non issue. He's not having a phenomenal year and O is a problem. Is it Tinkle's system? Is it lack of a system? Should Qvale, AJ and Cherry be allowed to just pick their 2 favorite guys to start with them , send the coaches to the lockeroom and let the athletes loose? Maybe.
I know it's far from over but really, how did we screw this season up? Give me some hope guys.

A sweep this weekend could go a long way in helping the confidence of players and coaches. Another split could be devastating...hopefully a split is the worst case scenario.

Used to be that home court was automatic for most teams in the Big Sky. That has changed to all conference games are mostly ugly. MT does play good defense and therefore should get an ugly win over Eastern Washington who is 1-8 on the road.

The Portland State game should be a bit more fun as PSU does not waste a lot of time playing defense.

Worst case Griz win one ugly game and one not quite so ugly for the automatic sweep at home.

Man, I can't believe what I just read. You complimented UNC! You hate UNC.

I know nobody here wants to hear it but I think the cats are the odds on favorite at this point with that thumping they gave UNC in Bozeman.

Could be, they have a pretty good coach.
