Why are you yelling in your post..worried your voice may get lost in all the relevant talk about Montana Football and the FCS? I don't jump on or off bandwagons. I only ride cadillacs, even when they are running on two cylinders. Quiy hijacking threads with this Alltuna stuff.

I was yelling cuz I was coming off watching super nerveracking game that my heart was in for obvious reasons. I am done with this thread. I didnt hijack I just compared good coaching(GV) to bad coaching(MD)

I don't see a DI football program hiring a head coach whose coaching experience is coaching HS football. Sorry. If he does become the next Griz coach like you hope, I'll buy you a beer at the Press Box if he leads the Griz to the playoffs his first season.

+1 bigskyguy it can't be said any more direct or accurate. We all have some form of measurement in our jobs, careers or performance activities. Coaching evaluation is not rocket science nor nuclear fission. The season was lined with "buffoon" like moments... I could regurgitate it again, but all the weekly blunders have been noted here over and over again :roll: However kicking off in both halves is worth addressing again...You F****** moron :grenade: Thanks for taking on the grease fire with "no" notice...but you are what you are...a filling station in the middle of the desert..time to hit the gas pedal and roll on :dead:bigskyguy said:

I think there is a good amount of blame to go around for this season and some of it falls on the coaching staff's shoulders but some of it doesn't as well. I'm on the fence here but I think Pounder makes some good points. Think back to other teams we've seen over the years who, by the time they played the Griz, their season was over. Many of them would quit on the field once things got tough. These Griz never did that. Additionally, every game they were in was winnable. Yes, I realize that you can firmly plant a few losses on poor coaching decisions late in the game, however there's other events on-field that could've put the team ahead earlier that you can't just blame the coaching staff on.
Obviously we are going to see changes as Rosenbach is gone and presumably we'll see another guy or two get hired away as I do believe we've got a few incredibly talented coaches that will get looks elsewhere. What I hope for is that the new guys brought in help improve quality in coaching and especially in-game decisions. Additionally I hope that Mick and the current staff take a hard look at the errors made this season and consider what they should do differently moving forward. A thought might be to get a quality-control type of consultant/assistant. Someone that could mirror Mick and work with the top coordinators to help with proper in-game management, etc.

some good points. if the griz do well next year, i will not give too much credit to MD, it would definitely go to the new OC. I mean what team gets to redzone 6 times and comes out 0 :shock: The play callings sucked and the OC had no clue what to call to save his life; more the game

When people no longer trust "the system", they start to function outside of it to try to get things done. That is the essence of the individualism that is noted above. Players either stopped trusting the players around them or felt that they were not being put in the right places to succeed. It starts to snowball and pretty soon you have chaos. The Griz never sunk to that point but you can clearly see the slide in that direction. Ultimately it is the coaches job to recogize this problem and do something about it. Either they were distracted by events outside the team or were incapable of seeing the problem or were ill equiped to do anything about it. Yes, there were significant losses of talent from the previous year -- but there have been every year in the last 20 years. So what was this year so different? Coaches who could not deal with the situation in total. Was it their fault? Probably very little of it was. Is it their problem? ABSOLUTELY. And they did not succeed. The problem for me is that they did little to inspire confidence that they can do any better next year.
