They failed their academic progress. Maybe UNLV and Idaho can play and call it a bowl game.Brock Landers said:*Joke about Idaho being terrible*

At least they are holding down the Denver market for us.kemajic said:Equivalent to playoff ban for UNC.
Correct. Right at the top of Fullerton's accomplishments. When we were there in 2012 for their homecoming on a very nice day - 4700, nearly half of which were in Griz gear.WaGriz4life said:At least they are holding down the Denver market for us.kemajic said:Equivalent to playoff ban for UNC.

The Denver and Portland markets have been game changers for the BSC....
The Big Sky Conference controls the bay area market much like Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets control the China market...CDAGRIZ said:EverettGriz said:WaGriz4life said:At least they are holding down the Denver market for us.kemajic said:Equivalent to playoff ban for UNC.

Not to mention the legendary hotbed of FCS fans in the Sac-Davis area. Thank goodness the BSC took command of that market.
Is that akin to how EWU controls the (big money ... ?) Spokane market, ISU the (hotbed of football! ?) Pocatello market, or Weber the rabid (?) Ogden market? Let's not overlook the multitude of fans in the Flagstaff area for NAU. And have you ever actually stopped in Cedar City, Utah (pop. 28,857 in 2010 ... maybe 4 thousand more that a decent Griz game in Missoula)? [We've stopped for gas a couple times ... there is no there, there.)WaGriz4life said:...

Even Cal Poly sits in a city smaller than Missoula: Does anyone really believe they will ever draw a regional crowd in competition with Santa Barbara, Fresno State, etc?
My point: Most Big Sky teams sit in small to miniscule markets. Those that might have access to larger markets (PSU, Sac State, NoCo, etc.) face stiff competition from "big boy" programs in football and Bball. Except for special situations (UM and MSU as "the only gamein town"), their schedules will never be big stadium or TV draws. Plans that ignore those financial realities are doomed to failure.
