NIT ??

Honestly, did you really think UM, an also-ran in a second rate conference really had a chance to get an at-large selection into the NIT?

Not really, shows how the upsets of 14 conference champions created the face of the NIT. That left only 18 at large bids.

Kind of a bummer teams like Nebraska get in.. 7-10 in their conference. As I think I've said in other threads, if you can't finish above .500 in your conference you shouldn't be getting an at large bid to post season tournaments :/

Exactly, there were a lot of auto-bid teams from smaller conferences that won their regular season title, but lost in the tournament, so that made this year a lot harder to get into the NIT. The reason Weber was in last year was they were the regular season champs (auto-nit bid).

So UNC gets NCAA
Weber in cbi
Nau in cit

Leaves um in 3 on 3 tourney????

Pretty sure the Griz got a CIT bid, but were holding off on accepting until they saw whether or not they got an NIT bid. Since we didn't get an NIT bid, I'm guessing the CIT announcement will come pretty soon.

Not so pissed we are not in the NIT, but pissed we may not be in any tournaments. I hope one of the other 2 saved us a slot.

Griz are going to have to get more consistent. Can't beat UCLA one night then lose to Podunk St the next night. Too inconsistent. You never know what Griz team is going to take the floor on any given night, IMO.

How the hell does bethune cookman get in the nit and we didnt. They have an rpi of 198 and there conference rpi and sos is 30 which is worse than the bigsky. I think the refs from the unc game were also on the NIT selection committee.

They won the regular season title in their conference.

Sorry Dexter, 24 team CIT tourney teams already announced, Griz not on it.

UM may not want the CBI either because they would presumably have to play at Weber which has announced they are hosting. Why would you want to play a team that finished below you in the standings plus had a lower RPI. Waiting on the NIT, may have cost them the CIT spot that NAU got.
