Nguyen

As I was watching the reply of the hit I was thinking that it was likely his last play as a griz. While he usually drives me crazy with his decisions I never like it when a player gets hurt. That hit he took was solid and he looked as if his bell was rung in a bad way. Can't imagine he will be back next week but luckily we have the answer.

Let's stick Berland in there next week! Sure he's the lead blocker right now but I say give the guy the break he deserves, I can't believe he could be any worse than Nguyen.

What?? Nguyen is a sophomore. Would be one hell of a concussion to knock him out for two years...

And he's done just fine back there.
Although we're likely to see Jones for the remainder of the year.

The Nguyen brothers are both terrific young men. And you can't say "Well, that may be true, but it's all about production". Because they both have been very productive. It is human nature to focus on the mistake plays and magnify them while minimizing the good stuff. I am a golfer so it's in my DNA.

I am not so sure Travon is your best option. He has let some passes escape his grasp that were catchable.

The real question is where were most of the coaches and medical/training staff???

He got up on his own power, staggered around and FINALLY, ONE of the coaches came out to assist him off the field.

We heard the hit up on the 2nd level and it was LOUD. I haven't seen a replay but it appeared to be helmet to helmet.

Appeared to be a real lack of concern for the well being of a student athlete. :?: :?: :?: :?:

I don't agree with you. As you said, Nguyen got up under his own power. Neither he nor the Griz player right with him signaled for assistance. He started off the field straight towards the sideline and then veered off direction as he pointed to his head. A coach scooted out onto the field to assist him immediately after that. Hard or noisy hits don't signal injury. There are scores of loud and hard hits in every game, and usually no one is hurt. In my view. you're trying to make an issue out of something that isn't an issue.

Nguyen is a good kid. He does many things very well and were lucky to have him. The only knock on him is his lack of top end speed. It limits his ability to run kicks back for a TD. He has great shake and bake moves and gains from that and his quickness. I hope he plays next week and is doing ok!

Fielding punts is a dangerous occupation requires a lot of focus with the understanding that in a heartbeat the world comes crashing in!

Having been on the receiving end of some big time hurt a time ago my heart goes out to our returners......

I thought his top end speed looked pretty good in his return for TD.

nguyen is a great player. he has good top-end speed, but can't sustain is for a full 100 yards.

This is probably un-popular, but I don't really feel all that bad that he most likely got a concussion. Un-fortunate? Yes, but if he did what he was supposed to - call a fair catch when someone is that close - he wouldn't have gotten rocked. :twocents:

You realize that a concussion isn't always something you get over like a common cold?

Very true, the effects of a concussion can last a lifetime; such as problems with memory, cognitive ability (critical thinking), balance, can change your personality (depression).

Concussions can be bad news...

I wish the best for Nguyen.

I don't care if he has a peanut allergy, common cold or a concussion. Whatever keeps him off the field is a good thing and makes Montana a better team.

For the record the coaches weren't just ignoring him. As already pointed out he got up with a teammate and headed to the sideline, but the second he veered and touched his head Justin Green was out there grabbing him extremely quickly. The people I was sitting with were all talking about how we appreciated how quickly he reacted.

Don't be stupid..........too late?

You do not get to tell me what team I root for. Yes I was in Fargo for the Griz game with 7 of my friends who are real fans.

Maybe you and 68 can bake a cake together while the real fans travel to play Illinois State in our next "big" game? Post pictures for us
