Griz got some airtime during the Justin Herbert pick....

They went through his family lineage, talking about how his dad played at Montana and his brother played at Montana State.

Then they showed a bunch of game clips, including one against the Griz from this year....

I don't remember his dad but I certainly remember his brother. He's a doctor now.

There’s an article posted here(around the time of the Oregon game) that mentions how Mark Herbert played one year before giving it up.

I don't think he is a Doctor yet, He has narrowed his choices of Medical School to Vanderbilt, Columbia, and Cornell

I think Mitch initially wanted to play at UM, but the griz went with another tall rangy receiver from the PNW instead (can't remember the dudes name....Reese Carlson?), so Mitch ended up with the Cats, which turned out to be a great fit for both MSU and Herbert.

Also, Justin Herbert was very close to committing to MSU before Oregon came in with an offer.

He was about 12 hours from it. He had decided to go to MSU, and Oregon called the next morning and offered.

Mitch wasn't the guy who vebaled to UM, then had his offer pulled? Seems like that was the guy...

It very well could be. I know UM was his top choice, but Delaney (I think) ended up going a different direction with the available WR scholarship.

If I remember correctly Reese Carlson was great, scout team player of the year. Then made a 4th down catch against the Bison on the final drive. Left to follow a religious calling, I think.

For the first time since 2000, no Big Sky Conference players were drafted. What does it say about the league, the current state of the NFL? More than you think:

I think it is a lack of effort on the scouts part. They are saying that because of the pro-days being cancelled a lot of FCS guys didn't get enough time in front of scouts. I think the teams just defaulted to the big schools (look at 14 SEC guys taken in the first round). Too bad as there was some really draft quality FCS talent.
