Next Up: NAU

Well that sucks! I didn’t get to see the game cause I’m in Mexico, only saw the final. What went wrong tonight? Looks like we shot it well and having not seen the game, I’m curious what the problem was.

Also I have no idea why we struggle in Flagstaff so bad. Literally every year we fall on our face in Flagstaff. It’s maddening.
 
I thought Travis believed in getting the ball to player with the hot hand. Bannon, In my opinion, was on a cold streak. He played well at the beginning of the game.

How many games the past 2-3 seasons has DeCuire lost in the last two minutes, or in OT?

Why didn't we double team Cone on his last shot? Everyone in the dome (all 200 of them) knew that Cone was going to go iso on that play. Make somebody else beat us! Poor coaching IMO

Vasquez kept UM in this game but when he should have gotten the ball, it went to Bannon..go figure.

A lot. Save for a game here and there, his Griz teams have a tremendous amount of trouble finishing. Build a big league and blow it. That's their MO.
 
How did NAU, as bad as they are every year, sign Jalen Cone??? Look at the big time teams which offered him from the portal. Why can't DeCuire ever get a kid like this?

Bigger question: how many games have DeCuire coached teams lost games in which they had 15+ point leads in the last 3-4 years? Why does something work for 30 minutes and then NOT work for 10 minutes?

Why do DeCuire-coached teams go through long stretches without scoring?

I know, I know, basketball is a game of “runs”….but it’s also a game of adjustments. What is DeCuire doing (or not doing) that’s causing these lulls and losses in games that appear to be in hand?

Bannon has been an enigma to me. He can look so darned good for stretches in games, but seems to play really poorly at the end of games. He missed two lay-ins and kicked a 2 on 1 fast break by dribbling off his foot in OT. He seems to panic in crunch time.

Yep. As you know, I am not a fan of DeCuire. When we lose to a pathetic NAU team, whose only four wins are against basically YMCA teams, you realize how far Montana basketball has declined. I see us being a middle of the pack in the Big Sky this season.

He just isn't a "go to" kind of guy. TD hasn't had many "go to" types lately.
