Next up Griz at Reno 3/16 CBI Tournament

Some of the calls against UM and the foul/free throw disparity. Wow. Very unfortunate. There were 2 in a row with about 5 minutes to go that looked wrong too. The 4th foul on Breunig and a blocking foul on someone. Looked incorrect to me, on the less than perfect streaming quality. I felt bad for the team and Breunig. They should have advanced. Thought they deserved it. Why don't our guys foul earlier, and why leave it to Breunig to do it and get his 5th? It was a nice and fun season. Much to look forward to, but the team, and the fans, will miss Breunig. I enjoyed the posting, analysis and stats of the board this season. Learned alot. Thanks.

There were three consecutive fouls called by the same ref in about a two minute period of Nevada's comeback that were very impactful. The first was Breunig's disallowed And 1, then his 4th touch foul on a double team trap on the baseline, and then Jack Lopez's block which was a charge. The momentum of their comeback was enhanced greatly by the refs.

Will there ever be a Griz loss where the fans don't blame the officiating? It's so predictable, especially from PR. That whining gets really old. We got beat, and it wasn't the officiating that beat us.

Commenting on calls or the refs, or even complaining, doesn't equate to saying the officiating beat us.

What gets old is posters like you who can't admit that some calls are wrong, some refs have bad games or are bad, and officiating sometimes does impact a game. Also, posters like yourself that apparently think complaining about a calls means you think the refs caused the loss.

I think that is universal but after some of the head scratching melt downs by Montana playing some weak sisters in the conference, I guess ragging on the refs is ok. I did notice in the Reno game that the refs had no clue as to what constitutes a moving screen violation. It would have made a difference in a game like this but the season is over and now the focus should be on what will replace the loss of Breunig. After watching the NCAA, it is more apparent than ever, that a solid big guy, preferably two and three fast and talented guards are requisite to just compete. UM has the makings of 3 good guards but so does Weber, North Dakota, and Montana State. The coach has a tough job ahead of him.
