GU asst coach and announcers appear shocked that the Griz are actually giving them a game....maybe sloppy ball is the Griz style...
 
Encouraging half. I was especially encouraged that, despite some dumb turnovers, our transition D was solid. Really kept the game within reach at the half. Hope we can make some adjustments. It would be nice to see a cutter in the lane when Breunig is doubled so quickly. I think we could get some buckets that way.
 
Must have missed at least 5 point blank layups and several other good percentage shots. Make just a decent percentage and we lead!

Exactly. He does a lot out there for the Griz on D that shouldn't be ignored. Yeah he's having a rough night shooting (it happens) but we need him out there on the court.
 
Gonzaga has always had that particular pride in their basketball team. Back in the day, Jud's Griz had totally dominated the Zags in a home game, and so I went into the Zags locker room afterwards to do my story. They had a feisty little coach, Adrian Buonchristiani, but wow, the "feist" was gone. It was like a morgue in there, and Coach was the corpse. He answered my questions politely, and one of the players was cordial and said some good things about the Griz, but they had clearly not expected to lose. Later, Buonchristiani was fired and went on to become one of Converse's biggest wholesale sales reps, made good money for himself. A few years ago, he was suggested for AD at Gonzaga, but I don't recall if he declined or had just been out of the sport world for too long.
 
Back to the live feed. I had to step away for a second. The Griz can win this game. GU definitely doesn't have a good backcourt this year, and with Karno on the bench, the Griz can certainly pull this off!
 
Griz coming out in the 2nd half pretty hot. 31-28 zags. Well, shoot my feed is slower than everybody else's. Well, now I know what to look forward to ...
 
Gfeller 1 out of 6? This has to change...the Griz are working their outside game around him and he needs to step up.
