Next up 11/13 Boise State

What a finish! Great game! Really excited about the future with Oguine. Reminds me of Will Cherry.
 
Great Win! going to be a fun season in hoops..impressed with the Griz depth..all Fr looked very good and will only get better! yahoo.. :clap:
 
Boise State's coach Rice not impressed with the officiating. "Never come back here again the way that game was administered." were his words in a post-game interview.
 
Oguine is shifty!!! He is a lot of fun to watch. I thought he was much quicker and jumped higher than his defenders. Can't wait to see how he progresses this year.

This griz squad looks great, Oguine I think will take pressure off Martin. The other Freshman #24 made some big shots and Gfeller was there when it counted.

Great game overall for the griz

I am not a trash talker but hate someone who doesn't give anyone credit. Did he mention he, as coach, let his team lose an 11 point lead with 11 minutes left? Did he mention last year in Boise it was the other way around starting in the 2nd half when they were down?

Secondly, maybe he should teach his team the new rules about hip checking and how to play defense without doing it.

Thirdly, maybe they could play defense on the inside a little bit.

And last but not least did he mention we did it with 2 true freshman and a new point guard?

Just asking.

Yes! Griz1. I was at the game and came to the same conclusions, except that yours are laser-sharp correct. Can't say the game was well called. Can say that the new hand-check rule, if consistently called by refs, will change the game a lot. But the hand-checks were called evenly. Simply put, the Broncos could not handle Breunig OR Krslovic inside (Krslo had some unlucky-bounce misses), nor could they stop Michael Oguine's drives down the lane. Broncos played soft on Bobby Moorehead and he burned them. Legit win by the Griz.
 
Oh, and one more thing. True frosh Paris Austin is going to be an incredible point guard for the Broncos. I wish him well. That said, I hope he thought -- just a little bit, in the back of his mind -- post-game tonight if maybe he might have made the wrong choice last year when his final decision came down to the Broncos or the Griz.

Nonetheless, I'm pretty pleased we got Walter Wright to play the point. He's going to be a good one for the Griz as well.

Great finish and great, gritty win! As far as Oguine? I try not to overreact based on one game but I'm probably about to...He does remind of Cherry but, and this is no slight to Will, he is far ahead of Will at the same stage. He's bigger, more athletic, tho not quicker but definitely quick enough and a much more natural scorer. We pretty much handed that game over to him when Martin picked up his 4th and he took over. Plus we put him on Drmic and he really slowed him down after he had scored like 12 in a minute thirty.Very, very impressed. But i wont overreact. Haha. GO GRIZ!

The refs were just bad, not biased. Their cheap calls against Wright and Breunig hurt us just like some calls hurt Boise. It was frustrating to watch but it's the reality of basketball, especially at the Big Sky/MWC level.

Anyways I couldn't have been more impressed by this team, Oguine was incredible and absolutely carried this team in the second half with Breunig and Wright out and Moorehead was fearless shooting the ball. Decuire deserves a ton of credit for bringing in a couple of freshman (plus JUCO Wright) that were ready to play on day 1, he has done a great job building on what Tinkle and Krystkowiak had established.

Agree. Sour grapes coach. Those shitass refs aren't even ours and BSC refs are much worse. I'd say we got homered at home. If MB didn't have to sit 12 minutes in the second with cheap fouls we win by 10.
 
Rice has no room to talk. Refs sucked the life out of that game but last year in Boise the fouls were 28-16...Decure didn't whine. Rice can take a long walk off a short pier
