Lady Griz played their standard outstanding Selvig-coached floor game & led for most of the contest.
• Officiating was standard fare from veteran Big Sky women's crew and didn't favor either team... though they blew a 10-second call late agains the LG.
• But you could see it in their faces at about the 7-minute mark. They tightened up, forced several bad passes and badly missed 4-5 wide open treys. Several other shots in the paint were also open but banged hard off the glass.

The Lady Griz are their own worst opponent right now. Can't say if they'll learn to play with the same kind of relaxed intensity they do over the first three quarters. But they have the talent. This is a team that I'd bet on making a late-season run & taking the trophy in the tourney.

You nailed it, exactly.

But the thing is, great athletes don't tighten up, rather they LIGHT UP.

If I'm reading the numbers right, they shot a hair over 26%. It's hard to beat anyone with that kind of shooting.

John Stockton has had a major positive influence on the Lady Cats. Was a great move hiring him as an assistant coach. He has been very effective with his coaching on the defensive end. The Griz saw that today.

He does sign autographs but it is limited. He is inundated and he would never get anything done if it wasn't control!ed.

Griz got totally ref-jobbed. Appalling and offensive. I'm smoking a brisket flat in protest.

The perfect way to protest. I have a full packer ready for the smoker at 0600 tomorrow. It's a beast at 15 lbs., but I think I can manage it before sundown.

My first real stab at beef on the smoker. She's been on for 4 hours now. If all goes well, it's gonna be brisket po'boys all around. If it goes bad, my dog will benefit greatly. Either way, someone will be happy.

How much was he charging per autograph saconchin66?

The Lady Griz have had trouble finishing all season long. At half-time I told my spouse I was afraid they would lead all game and then lose it at the end, and that's essentially what happened.

As a Griz fan, I think it's pretty damn cool that a Big Sky team has him as an assistant coach. Even if it is our arch-enemy.

One of the greatest NBA players of all-time, someone all b-ballers can emulate in terms of how to play the game.

I don't know how much of the success of the Lady Cats this year you can attribute to John Stockton, but I know Binford gives him some of the credit.

And I can see why he doesn't over-do the signing of autographs. He was the same way when he was attending his son's football games at UM. He doesn't want to deflect attention from the kids, I'm sure.

It'll be great. Aaron Franklin would curse me for saying so, but I actually prefer the flat. Maintain temperatures, brother.

She's been on for over 4 hours now at a pretty steady 250-260. Haven't even put the meat thermometer probe in yet. Gonna do that in a half hour or so. Everything I've internetted has said to bring 'er up to 165, wrap in foil, take it up to 195 to slice or 200-ish to pull. That's my only plan at the moment.

Not sure this will be well accepted.....but I think the women's program needs a new direction....new energy....
