The better team won both games.

I wanna marry Lindsay Stockton.

Wait a minute. Do you want to marry her because she's attractive, because she's a good ball player, or because her father's got money?

In BD's case, probably all of the above!

3 or 4 years ago, I believe, because it was before the whole Brawl of the Wild contest thing for all sports. And actually, I think they did get us once, in the final match of the year, in men's tennis or some damn thing. But otherwise we won every contest in every sport. #lilbro
It was in Rodeo. Our horse had the flu.

Ha! :thumb:

Give DeCuire credit for some good coaching decisions in the face of a lot of foul trouble
Hard to find fault with the coaching on that one ...

I noticed something interesting in the Rahac story on the game.

Rachac noted that TD said he took Wright out of the game early in order to give him grief for lack of effort on a particular defensive play. But his real intent, it seemed, was just to light a fire under Wright, as he said, the point guard plays "better angry." Wright reported that the coach said “a lot of words I can’t say" publicly.

DeCuire said Wright played "phenomenal" after that. Indeed.

In the postgame interview with Mick Holien, coach DeCuire quite bluntly described the same thing.

It's interesting to me that in the Cat game -- and in other games -- Wright appears cool, calm and collected. Though he's apparently playing "angry." Wonder what happens when he gets real, real angry? Maybe a 40 plus point game?

WW didn't come out hard enough to defend a 3, and then didn't drop back down to defend on another play and gave up a bucket. I think it may have been the wide open dunk from the baseline but not sure. Then to the bench for a bit and talk with the coach. Then played very well and even great the rest of the way.

Is the sound gone, or did I have a stroke?

LMAO  :thumb:

In Butte on Directv, the 2pm Lady Griz game came in great, audio and visual. Shorty after the game the ABC/FOX station went off the air. It didn't come back on air until exactly 9:20 pm!!! After the mens game ended!!! I AM THE ONE THAT HAD THE STROKE!!!

The TV had a message saying, No need to call Directv...technical difficulties...will come back on when resolved.

Well f'n'eh, I called Directv! They said they see the message, and the problem is on the local end.

Not sure this will be well accepted.....but I think the women's program needs a new direction....new energy....

Not going to argue that... love the guy, an absolute legend... but this is pretty slow, poor shooting team (granted from just the 1 game I saw),,,

This is just the 2nd time in 38 years under Selvig that the Lady Griz have lost four BSC games in a row... the last time was in 1999, the last time the Lady Griz ended up with a losing record by the way.

I've watched the Lady Griz for quite a few years now (covered them in the mid 1980s)... enough to know that coach Selvig demands -- and gets -- game-by-game improvement. I predict the Lady Griz will steadily improve... and win the Big Sky Tourney title.

As tough as Lady played on the road the last two games they certainly could win the conference tournament. But not getting a first round bye could make it very difficult with our lack of depth. There appears to be too much dependence on Valley and Feller. Lately I have seen some steps in getting Vining some open looks early. When healthy, Sims has contributed a few double figure performances but there's not much else. Valley gets worn down trying to be the top defender along one of the leading scorers the conference.

I finally watched the game from DVR. What terrific guard play by each team!!! Colbert has improved a ton in terms of scoring. Hall has a lot of potential, but has to driving the coaches crazy with inconsistent defense. He is advanced offensively, and can get his shot off against most any defender. His defense needs a lot of improving. Physically, he is more than capable though.

Wright and Oguine played slightly better and did much more for the GRIZ overall. Wright and Oguine got to the basket rather easily, played better defense, and rebounded well. In my opinion that was the difference in this game. Overall, the GRIZ had more players do more to contribute, beyond scoring. Another solid game from Lopez as well. He came through with clutch baskets, rebounds, and solid defense.

Personally, I really did not see as bad of officiating as I was led to believe by the game thread. By the way, the questionable charge call against Oguine in the 2nd half, was more of a charge than defensive foul. In those situations, usually a ref will call it on the ball handler if they dip their shoulder or head in the slightest. Sure enough, Oguine dipped his shoulder, and the ref made the right call. Yes, the defender did not have his feet set, but Oguine's action initiated the contact, not the action of the defender. GREAT call, in my opinion by the official.

Great to see that Fish has a team who all play hard for him. Overall, their defense is much improved from last season, and they have some bite and attitude too. He has that team heading in the right direction. I will be looking forward to Oguine/Hall matchups for the next 3 years. Both those kids are very talented. Right now, slight advantage to Oguine. He does more than Hall for his team, and is by far a better defender. It will be interesting to see what kind of player Hall becomes.

MSU needs to shore up the talent in their depth to make a move toward the top of conference standings. Their guard play will be their staple this year. If they keep Colbert and Hall healthy, they are a top 5 BSC team this season. If either goes down, they are likely to struggle to get W's.

GREAT game by each team. I hope the Cats get a top 4 seed in the conference tournament. That is a great bunch of kids to get behind. I was also impressed by the class shown by each team after the game. For as hard as they played, there was no BS attitudes during or after the game to take away from a great game. Great W for the GRIZ!!!
