I suspect what we saw was Travis spending the week orienting to a "3 pt" game strategy. Few teams have so many 3 pt players. If they all shot their best on the same night, we'd be scoring 150 points, but, alas, 'tis not so.

But, in running the routes all week for three point play and trying to develop a coordinated inside strategy as defenders start to come out, I think the week was perhaps "too much all at once," at practice and the FG skills and plays simply got rusty. You'd could see that on some of the bobbled passes, the receiver wasn't "quite" ready on a number of plays in trying to get the basketball inside, and that looked like they simply hadn't practiced them all week.
 
yeah when this team can hit some threes Bruenig will be available to just crush teams down low and this team will get better at the inside then out game when the outside shooting isn't good. They are already great at the outside then in game when the outside shooting is good and I am sure everybody including Bruenig appreciates those games

Hard to believe a coach and a team would be on completely separate game plans. It was a good thing they did, as I noted on that game thread, the 30% 3pt shooting was the equivalent of 45% FG, and the Griz were a longs ways from shooting 45%.
 
EWU is a tale of teams this year. With the exception of San Fran and Denver, they've played really poorly on the road, and looked damn near unstoppable at home. I do suspect we'll play a little better than what we did on Thursday, though. Should be a good one.
 
I can't believe that the Eagles team was "enthusiastic" when somebody handed out the candystripper uniforms for the first time. "You're kidding!" would have been the first words out of my mouth.

Yeah, sometimes the flow in the game precludes a team from executing their plan. Credit Idaho. But I can GUARANTEE Travis doesn't want his team shooting 30 3s. In fact, he said as much on today's pregame show.
