Next stop, Spokane

I couldn’t disagree more with the OP. I thought the crowd looked amazing compared to Reno. There were more people at the Griz/Sac game than were at every game combined in Reno.

Wow...so many with their panties in a wad. Whatever your love crush with Kasper, Reno and/ or Boise et al Spokane still makes more sense..and as for WGrizLifer, I suspect I've attended more Griz road games than you are old, junior...

Maybe, that's your problem. The world is changing and one giant change is how Boise has reinvented itself. It has everything going for it but climate. Spokane, to me, is simply a large version of Great Falls without the perks..The Big Sky made a good choice, for a change. I just hope UM can roll over Weber but Weber looked better today than I've seen them.

Agree with everything but climate ... at least from our perspective here in eastern Idaho. Its about 2000 feet lower than here in Idaho Falls, gets a lot less snow and really cold days (single-digit lows), and not nearly as much wind. Believe it or not, several people we know -- who wanted to stay in-state -- moved to Boise for their health (usually on the advice of physicians) ... with dramatically positive results.

UM Alum and BSC event director Jon Kasper was on Pluto at halftime. Guy's about 45 looks 65 and hasn't missed too many buffets. Maybe Reno got tired of feeding him.

I thought the same thing. He's on the Pat Kennedy Diet. At least he is not Andrea Williams, who had no clue about the history or geography of the Big Sky. She moved the tourney to Boise and then bolted for other NCAA endeavors, which I am sure she's equally terrible at. I think with Kasper there's a chance the tourney will return to the regular season champ someday.

Perfect sized arena for the event AND they sell beer. The Montana crowd was amazing it was like a home game with 99% of the gym wearing maroon. Boise has a really cool down town. My wife and I are thrilled we came down and are having a blast. We watched every game today.

It’s a really great venue and location. This will get bigger and bigger. I have seen so many people who were in Reno in Boise this week. I know it’s a long ways away for you, but I promise if you ever make it to one you will not be disappointed.

I’m here and have always believed Boise would be a great spot for the tournament. And assuming we’re stuck with a neutral location, it is. But the same issues exist: the crowds are better, but there’s still zero community interest.

I’m not sure the community interest will change much. As the years go on more people will go to support their school and once they go they will want to go again. This will take time. And Haslam said there is a zero percent chance they go back to having the 1 seed host.
