Next coach.

Do you all think we will have to gamble or pay more to get the right coach here?

What's Justin Green's future? If he'd be willing to hire a creative OC, and let his coordinators be truly in charge of offense and defense, he'd be a candidate.

I don't know Justin well enough to know his upside.

I’m not sure Justin has (or should have) a future here…How long has he been the recruiting coordinator? And how long have we struggled with talent?

There can be zero candidates from BH's coaching tree...more like a shrub.

None. They ALL have to go. Burn it down.

If the next coach isn't pulled out of the dakotas...something is seriously flawed. There is a formula to get into the national semis and beyond. It's not that hard.

He certainly has Montana ties.

Montana ties and HC experience. Won a conference title at Rocky Mountain after they had been terrible for 20 years. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Jason. We will have to see how good NDSU is on defense as the year progresses.

Andy Thompson
People keep saying this. Why in the world would would Andy get off the success of Sac State where he seemingly has them rolling for a lateral move to rebuild our team without a huge pay increase?

Sac State is a more attractive job right now. There's no chance in hell he comes here.

More attractive because they are winning. But, Griz job is more attractive in sooo many other ways.

I'm not saying AT should be the guy, but I do think the Griz job is among the very, very top of the FCS in many ways.

Sorry, I should clarify. Sac State is far more attractive to Andy Thompson right now than Montana is, not for any coach in general.

I think we need to get away from the Montana ties or bare minimum shouldn't be a factor in the search. Bobby literally did that by bringing in Pease and it hasn't turned out well at all, this needs to be a best candidate available hire first and foremost anything else is secondary.

Can Coach Armchair be nominated 🙋🏻‍♂️?

Hired. Welcome aboard. Pls prep the team for ISU. Time to rebuild after rebuilding...

Lets get it done for I'm not getting any younger. I pray the next coach won't line up in the shotgun for a 4th and 1.

First order of business. Have a real press conference and don’t be a flaccid weiner to the media.

Second order. Establish a new mantra. Make Griz Great Again.

Am I missing anything? Oh right, give Bergen the damn ball!

I would argue that currently the Sac job is just as attractive as the UM job, and the winning is the icing on the cake.

Maybe you are right. My maroon colored glasses are centered on what used to be the Mecca of FCS football.

Might be turning to ruins as we watch.

Ugh.

You guys are so sad right now you're blinded. If you don't think you're going to have same really good people put their name in for the job when Bobby is no longer there, whenever that happens. Hopefully he coaches 5 more years though.

Facilities and history. It's a good job.

There will for sure be some good names. I just don’t know that the names being presented by a few people are some of those names however. Genuinely asking, do you think Andy Thompson would be interested? He’s the HC in his 1st year. It’s currently a really good job. I would guess he’s making a lot more money than he would make at UM. If he were in his 3rd/4th year, I could see him possibly doing it just because it’s his alma mater, and his job at Sac may have hit its ceiling. Those are some things coaches look at when taking a job. So personally, I don’t think it would be the right time. Maybe I’m wrong. But names like Jason Petrino would be more realistic as well as almost any young P5 position coach or G5 coordinator would be crazy not to be interested in it. Without doing any research guys like Jake Cookus, Jerry Neuheisel, Tim Polasek, Pat McCann, maybe Chuck Morrell? Those are great candidates again without doing any type of Google search much less an extensive nationwide search that an AD would conduct.

Im gonna catch flak for this but we would be better with Gregorak running the show.

While that would be intriguing (imagine all the screaming from both sides if that happened), I think Gregorak is pretty happy as a TV commentator now. And he does a great job at it, too. He gets time with his family now. I wish he was a commentator for Griz games.

I know it's beaten to death and in vogue, but if Hauck really isn't back next season, I want us to go get someone from the XDSU coaching establishment, or someone from the Bohl/Klieman trees. Preferably someone young who actually connects with and can develop young men.

Maybe Zach Lujan is too green to jump into a HC position, but watching his offense last year was incredible. He'd probably be my first choice.

No Petrinos please!!!
