NEWS FLASH: Bobcats Really Did Want to Play NDSU...

Perception is everything. Ash bailed to try and position his team and lost. He lost his starting QB, the game and respect. I talked with a few ndsu fans last night and they WANT state college. Still a bit ticked. So if ash and co need to spin this thing that's ok. The damage has been done and ash looks like a fool....again.

So today Montana will take the field against a very good football team and win or not we are still taking the field. Gonna be fun too!
Go Griz!

Bought out NDSU 100k
Paid Monmouth 200k
Travel to SMU 100k
Total expenses 400k

SMU game made 300k
Hosted Monmouth and made ???

According to Ash and Company that home game w Monmouth must have fielded 500k if they truly made 400k out of it. I'm not as familiar with how much a home game can net after tickets, concessions, etc but I'd like to see a further breakdown of where he is claiming they netted the 400k.

"Hey our budget is tight, let's pay $100,000 to not play a football game."

..."in order to bank $400,000.00"

You need to read the whole article dude! :coffee:

I skimmed over the WHOLE article (dude) just once and very quickly as it's old news that MSU ran from The Bison.

What I gathered from it was the buyout was supposedly a financial decision and nothing more but then towards the end of the article it says you guys are going to start scheduling some tougher teams and loose money doing it.

What gives? Something has all of a sudden changed?

My favorite line in the whole article...."As their rivals to the west, the Grizzlies, begin their season against the No. 1 team in the nation, the Bobcats open next Thursday night at home against Fort Lewis of NCAA Division II."

I'm sorry I had to post this again only this time after you read it do the "wah wah wahhhhh" sound that happens when someone gets an answer wrong on a game show....

Wah wah wahhhhh

The Cats were chickenshit, obviously the Griz have a way different attitude. And..... See who is on ESPN.... LOL!

That was the best ending line. Everyone knows which team owns Montana :thumb:

Read my post above, the $400k number is nonsense. The 'analysis' says that the poll-cats canceled NDSU and then scheduled two games, Monmouth and SMU, resulting in a $400k revenue gain. This is nonsense because you can only replace the canceled NDSU game with one other game (which presumably is SMU). The Monmouth game (or a game very similar) happens anyway.

coach ron ash's financial analysis skills are minimal to non-existent.

your whole post is non-sense... This is done, over with... What's really funny it people who's team have nothing to do with this situation seem to know the most. The only people with anything to say on this are NDSU fans, and they have a right to be pissed just like the MSU fans that where also looking forward to this game. But it didn't happen it played out differently, you however I will give a pass on the MATH part since that's obviously your institutions weakest curriculum.

Actually I'd guess coach ron ash isn't over it because he seems to have made sure the state college beat writer wrote about it.

They never have anything regarding the schedule figured out until the very last minute. It surprises me every year when they post the finalized version because of their inept ability to plan.

Somebody should show them the 6 P's.

Not to worry. With their track record of ducking games, I doubt any decent team would schedule them in the first place. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I thought the reason had something to do with fraternities, but it's possible I'm mixing that up with something else....
