New walk on....from Missoula

At the AA state tournament, Wayne Tinkle was in attendance wathcing his daughter Joselyn play for Big Sky. Also in attendance was Missoula Big Sky senior, Paul Morris. Tinkle offered Morris a chance to try and walk on to the team starting this spring and contiuing through the summer and into next fall. Morris began playing in pick up game open gym with the team yesterday.

I know the exact response post I am going to get from this...."McGillis was twice the player Morris was, but he didn't get this offer". Say what you will along these lines, I am just putting the information out there. Have at it.

Good for Paul! Kind of surprised, but good!.... But the guy you should be talking about that is supposevly walking on is Charlie Cox. Sources from Western say he is leaving and coming to UM. Anyone heard anything?

Paul is a great kid, and I wish him the best. I will be surprised if he makes it, but hope he does. He was also offered a preferred walk on position with the football team.

I have heard the same thing from a very good source.

****RUMOR STOPPER****

1) Charlie Cox is playing at North Idaho Junior College next year to better his chances at D1 looks.

2) Jack McGillis was more than offered a walk-on with the Griz, He was in fact guaranteed a scholarship in his second year.

3) Paul Morris is getting the "generous" treatment from Tinkle if this walk-on offer is in fact true; which knowing Tinkle, I highly question the seriousness of this. You think Krysko has a walk-on spot for Morris in the type of game and coaching style he runs? Give me a break. If Cox and McGillis were only originally offered walk-on positions, then Morris has no chance. Not being rude to Paul, just stating the blatantly obvious. At this point, I think that Morris would be lucky to get a walk-on offer from Carroll. Even Josh Laslovich would tell you that.

****RUMOR ALERT****

Have it from Great Falls sources today from the Bobcat Booster Weekend Gathering with Lee Corso... Bobcat Basketball representatives at the gathering have been talking to everyone there that on the top priority of Brad Huse's list of recruits to nab right away is one that his former boss seemed to let get away. It is said that Huse is expected to make a run at former Hellgate star and current Oregon State Beaver, Jack McGillis. Remember folks, Montana State was McGillis's first choice originally until Durham went back on his original scholarship promise. Will be interesting to hear more talk from East of the Mountains as the weekend progresses.

Nice break for Morris, I have watched him play since he was in 8th grade......no offense to anyone but I doubt he will make it. It certainly makes a person wonder what criteria is used on these decisions.....the Fehr brothers in Corvallis are just loaded with talent. Collin Fehr has everything, size for a guard 6'4" & credentials - 2 time All State selection & only Class A player to make the Super State Team. Trevor Fehr at 6'9" is the best defensive player I saw all year, and he has a great work ethic......4-5 years from now someone will be looking like geniuses for picking these kids up. Go Griz!

You must not have watched much basketball if you though Trevor Fehr was the best defensive play you saw.
