NEW RECEIVERS COACH

http://www.registerguard.com/csp/cms/sites/web/sports/7355777-41/story.csp

Azzinaro, 50, was officially announced as the newest Oregon assistant coach Monday. He replaces Michael Gray, who, along with receivers coach Robin Pflugrad, was informed he would not be retained when Chip Kelly replaces Bellotti as the UO head coach at an as-yet-unspecified date.

Gray and Pflugrad will remain under contract with Oregon through the end of June. Both are apparently under consideration for other jobs at Oregon if they’re unable to find coaching positions.

“Until Robin and Michael are either reassigned in the department or accept jobs elsewhere, we’re all working towards getting them in a spot that protects them,” Bellotti said.

Pflugard will be on the staff officially when he is no longer being paid by Oregon. I told you guys about Germer and you all laughed, now do it again and prepare to eat crow one more time. Some of you never get it.

The guys that don't get it had us getting Robin Pflugrad back. I suspect they will eat your crow for you if anyone named "Pflugard" shows up.

***Mod Edit*** There's debate, and then there's name-calling, lets try to stick to the debate side

I just said Plfugradd would be a paid staff member AFTER Oregon is done paying him. I also was the 1st to report Germer.

Not to doubt your knowledge, but you also assured us that Simms was headed here.

Do we expect to have Pflugrad and Germer for spring ball?

Not sure about Germer but Plfugrad is in Missoula, was at Sundbergs party at the Press Box friday night.

I'm still hearing rumors about Kramer. Was told by some really credible sources that he was in town interviewing for the OL coaching position within the last month. What is the latest? Is Germer official?

Keeley on the University of Oregon dance team danced for Montana her frosh year. She transferred, too bad, very cute and very nice girl!

Bellotti's move up to AD at Oregon is now "official."

The article says
Bellotti, who has coached the Ducks for the last 14 seasons, takes over his new position July 1, replacing athletic director Pat Kilkenny. Kelly becomes coach on March 30, the opening day of spring practice.

Had to get'r done. If Kelly wants his own boys as Assistants (the reason they gave for dumping Pflugrad and the other guy), they needed to be in place for spring ball. That also make it more credible that Pflugrad will be in Missoula for UM spring ball.

Now that we're hearing about spring ball, what's the latest word on Pflugard?

Re/Max has mentioned him a few times in his practice reports. Sounds like he will be a good coach.

Phlugrad - In the riverbowl, he was mostly quiet and observing the WRs, then suddenly it was like he flipped a switch on, one WR catches a ball but doesn't secure it well, Phlugrad slaps the ball out of his hand and chews him up and down for it. Next is Mariani who catches a nice pass but out of bounds, Phlugrad chases him back to the huddle barking about turning his hips and getting his feet in bounds. From there on on out it seemed like he was really dogging the WRs, and demanding excellence from there on out. I think that he's really going to push these WRs hard, and the results should be great.

Another interesting thing is the old WR coach Cormier went to Universtiy of Miami - OH and their old WR coach is now the WR coach for the Bobcats.

I remember that quote. Just wondered what's happened since.

What is his status exactly? In the Missoulian they stated that he was a temporary assistant just helping out till he landed another job. Anyone know if he will accept the $35,000 WR postion at Montana?
