New Pregame

So we've all pretty much agree that the pregame has gotten pretty stale as we've seen the same thing for a while now. I got to thinking the other day about what songs could be played as the team is running out of the tunnel; something other than the "Bring 'Em Out." I heard this song on the radio and thought it could be a cool one to play as the team runs out:

I have it on good authority that the pre-game is slated to improve significantly this coming season.

Couldn't get much worse. ;)

You heard right. Expect a completely revamped pre-game this fall, well overdue and the U knew it.

I'm kind of partial to "Bring 'Em Out". Plus, the tunnel run vid has its own music and then there are only a few seconds before the team takes the field. "Bring 'Em Out" is straight-forward enough and just seems to fit that quick gap well. I like "Light Em Up" and how it builds up, but it takes a little over a minute to get to the "I'm on fire" climax which would be the best time for the team entrance. It risks excitement dropping off or the impact of the video weakening.

Then again, it would be cool as a change-up for a night game and setting off flames or other pyrotechnics (like the bball team had during the tourney). Haha and have Monte run out before the team in his underwear costume with some sort of illusion of being on fire.
 
I love this sort of thing. Recently came across this and the only thing I could think of was how cool it would be to watch the team explode out of the tunnel to the first 30 seconds of this and feel the electricity rock through the stadium.

I'm not sure how this would work due to the long beginning, but d@mn I love this remake.

To each his own, but I think the likelihood of the pregame including any of these "nu-metal" tracks is extremely low. While they are good tracks for getting jacked up, they most definitely don't appeal to a very wide demographic, which is key for this situation. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is a generation of kids who grew up on hip-hop, so I don't see these sort of bands being popular with a huge cross-section of the team or students either. In addition, you need a track that gets to the point within the first 30-45 seconds or you are going to start to lose most people. For these reasons, I believe that the most fitting tracks for the new-pregame routine are either going to be hip-hop or even classic rock. It needs to be something that pumps up the team AND the crowd.

Actually now thinking about it more, something like this might be better after the Marching Band finishes the fight song and starts running off the field. As it currently is right now, it's at this point when the bells ring and then the jock jam starts playing. My idea would be to keep the jock jams for the day games and then if we have any night games, play the "Light 'Em Up" or something different to add some more hype.
 
Whatever they decide to do, I hope the pregame song lyrics have nothing to do with scoring drugs or making girls bleed or shoving gun barrels in someone's mouth. The University of Montana doesn't need even a casual association with those things.
Surely there are other songs to work the crowd up.

I just need to hear the fight song and the touchdown cannon frequently at loud volumes.
 
Don't know what song to play for the Griz football team, but I would like the recommend a song before introducing the basketball team..... "Basketball Jones" by Cheech & Chong
