New Head Coach candidates...please keep it realistic

Just for laughs, Kevin Criswell?

On a serious note, what about Andy Hill or Michael Ray Richardson?

How much do you suppose MRR makes as head coach of the London Lightning? 8-)

Taking a little stroll down memory lane, does anybody else remember all the people on this forum posting about what a monumental screw-up it was to hire an untested, inexperienced Wayne Tinkle as head coach at UM? LOL, what a bunch of dumbasses!

Yup...I've always loved Wayne, but I'm ashamed to say that I was one of those questioning whether he had the chops to be head coach at the time. I'm proud to say that he proved me wrong many times over. He definitely grew into the head coaching roll over the years.

I realized early that my career in scouting coaching talent (and playing talent for that matter) was probably never going to get off the ground.

i resemble that.

I'm all for Huse. After all, we did send him to MSU to sabotage their program and he was masterful at it. With that in mind, just think of how good he would be at coaching the Griz if he took it seriously!

My vote is for Andy Hill! His recruiting efforts are still felt after leaving years ago, Kareem Jamar. Loved what he did for Montana and would love to see it continue. Key to turning Utah completely around.

DeCuire is jobless, why? He couldn't stay on at Cal or get the open assistant jobs at Oregon, Wazzu, UNLV, etc. He might have been "involved" with the HC openings at Cal and OSU but how serious was he? Did he realistically have a chance? His antics while Cal was searching for a HC rubbed me completely the wrong way (Weird tweets directed towards the job and sending Cal players/boosters to the chancellors office). Not what I want to see in Missoula.

Well, I'm glad to say you're in the minority on Decuire. Most people I know who are remotely knowledgeable about basketball feel Decuire is an amazing talent and great fit for the coaching position. Most Cal fans feels the same way. The AD pulled one out of left field by luring Martin away from Tennessee, where he wasn't all that popular in spite of taking the team to the Sweet 16.

Blaine Taylor has been mentioned. He left Missoula because his wife wanted to be close to her family on the east coast. So, unless he is now divorced or his wife has had enough of her family, why would he even consider UM again?

He left Missoula and went to the West Coast (Stanford)...not exactly the east coast....also, why would the U of M ever consider him again?? :?

Forgot about the Stanford assistant job. You know the old saying, 'seldom wrong but never in doubt.' Got to google more often. Thanks for the correction. I don't think they would offer, and he wouldn't take it anyway. But with Engstrom around, you never know...
