New Griz commit - Johnny Braggs, Bishop Gorman in Vegas

Good get anytime you can get a player out of Las Vegas, especially from Bishop Gorman. Still holding out hope for a transfer post.

New name to me so immediately wondered what position he played. But not really
.......figured he had to be a guard. Then wondered how tall he was. But not really ......figured he was no taller than 6'3". Check....check. So now Griz have Vazquez Whitney Parker Beasley and Braggs in our 6'3" and under stable. What ever happened to 6'5" guards?

From what I gather, this is going to be a pretty active spring recruiting season. Moreso than what was initially expected. The departure of Gaskin, Satterwhite and Clarke forced an adjustment in recruiting strategy along with what I think are going to be a couple of other players exiting stage right at the end of the season. Just a sense with no specifics obviously, but one could see at least 3 new players on the roster and upwards of 5 new guys on the roster come next fall.

Braggs represented an opportunity that I don't think was going to be there had it not been the migration in the early part of the season of the above mentioned. He's a physical guard, built, which puts him in a bit different ball park than some of the other guys they have brought in at guard.

Couple college analysts listed him as one of their top “sleepers” out west

How many times have we heard this, where is the effort to land some needed bigs.

Although at 195 if he could put on a couple he would be our big.

Just as long as Bannon and all of his "potential" isn't one of them!

The roster is super-unbalanced with Freshmen-Sophomore guys right now, and I doubt honestly that beyond Braggs that we'll see HS kids with whatever scholarships that are available.

I have heard there is some possibility that Clarke returns in the fall, I don't necessarily believe that, which would fill the wing/guard depth issue but I am not holding out hope for his return. My guess is that we'll see upperclassmen bigs if they are available through transfers or the JC route.

Ya that would be my preference are some transfer bigs. We are loaded at the guard position and there is really no need to go after anymore. I'd also like to see us fill one of the roster spots with another MT kid also.

I hear there's a pretty good 6'7" wing at Sentinel High this year and Hellgate had a pretty good 6'3" 6'4" guy last year that was physical for his height.

Not 6'2" Bay Area 2 or 3 stars.....but I heard pretty decent ballers.....for Montana kids!

Rollie was a big miss for sure. But if you have the goals a guy like DeCuire does, you’re not meeting them with Montana kids. This isn’t the 1960s anymore.

So the 6 2 6 3 guard route with 6 8 6 9 "bigs" that weigh 210 215 is going to get them to those goals? Huh?

If the goal is to win the tourney, then I would say it is getting him there.

First of all, this is a Johnny Braggs thread, not a Rollie Worster thread. Feel free to start a “Rollie” thread or a “we should only recruit Montana kids” thread.

Second, Travis SIGNED Worster, and then Worster decommitted after Utah State offered, right? So what exactly did Travis do wrong? Never mind, I’ll see you in your “I wish we had Rollie” thread.
