New Griz BB HC; Thoughts on Delaney's Replacement

We've now seen what Haslam has been able to do in luring our first women's softball coach, and now with his new head men's basketball coach.

Does this give anyone a better warm fuzzy about who he may/may not hire to replace Delaney when he ultimately leaves?

Because it sure seems to me that he's a glowing 2-2 on hires so far.

I am very confident now in Haslam's ability to bring in the best candidate possible. I'm looking forward to seeing who he'll hire as the next head football coach! :thumb:

Yep! Great job by the administration on both those hires.

Haslam has hit this out of the park, in my opinion. Even more encouraging and overlooked, it appears Engstrom is letting Haslam do his job and staying out of the way. I have much more peace of mind about the Athletic Department.

I'm really excited about both hires but before we get ahead of ourselves lets remember these two hires so far have coaches and/or won a grand total of 0 games for the Griz.

I think this does show Kent and the UM can bring in coaches with excellent resumes, I'm looking forward to seeing how both softball and mens hoops will be.

Understood....but based on pedigree, he's batting 1.000. :thumb:

My guess is Kent has list of next head football coaches.

It may not be as hard to attract both great FB and BB candidates as some think:

Come to Montana (a great Place to live) make 5 times the average salary of the community which will afford you a great standard of living, but you will be wined dined and treated like a king. Work your ass off for 4 or five years be successful, move and your reward will be seven figures, in 5 more if you continue the success, you will be a multi-millionaire. (or live in South Dakota in a shit hole if you are not)

What are the losers as hires?

2-2....as in, 2 for 2.

AHHH - Now I see the point.

J O'D was a fantastic AD, but Kent seems to be doing a first-class job. As with everyone else, the next one will be the big one and the one he is ultimately judged by - Mick's replacement.

+1

Correction: Mick's successor.

I really like the BB and SB coaching hires! They are used to big-time recruiting with the conferences they were previously involved in. The two coaches should bring in great talent.

And as a great SEC FB coach once said, "You are only as good as your recruits."
