New Era Griz !

That being said I am super excited about Coach Stitt! I just don't agree with this "Thank god a new coach is here to save us from the incompetence of the last staff" idea, saw too much good Griz football over the last three years to buy into that.

I agree. Change schemes or not. Our players played hard and tried hard. We simply had some deficiencies. These weren't the old staffs recruits (or lack there of) I'll be fascinated to see what Stitt does with MD's recruits

Coach Stitt said the program is not broken and that he looks forward to building on what coach Delaney and his staff have done and have left in place.

Young men, driven young men who have sacrificed and worked so hard to get to a program as well regarded as the Griz, want and need to be challenged, pushed and led.
We have had aggressive coaches, smart coaches and lovable coaches.
Now it is time for a coach who can combine those characteristics and get the best.

IMO, this is exactly what we have now!!

Houston, "Stand by for lift-off"

Bob sounds like a coach that knows and has played the game. Finally we may see a coach that can make half time adjustments and plays the opponent for what they are, instead on relying on the same ole game plan that has stifled our play and talent ability.
This coach sounds as if he knows how to get out of every player their talent he needs to be productive.................addressing good solid fundamentals and sound judgement to boot.

I could be wrong but our defense was very good at adjusting at halftime for quite a bit of the last few years. And I think our offense generally performed better in the second half as well. Say what you will about the style of Coach Delaney's system but we had a fair number of come back wins or sadly halftime blow outs that ended up close (EWU a couple times, and Coastal Carolina come to mind). We must have been making some good changes at halftime or maybe we just got lucky.

new infusion is the idea here. coach stitt sounds as if he could have the goods to instill the next level of play in our game and performance, including a second half game plan based on first half performance by both sides of the ball. this is not a for or against the current coaches it is simply an observation being at and watching the games the last 2 years.
coastal is a good example. the playoff game at eastern this year is another.
illinois state vs new hampshire is another the IS defense made adjustments in the second half that made them look like a whole other football team and NH felt it. that kind of coaching and inspiration is what i hope bob brings to the griz. command and leadership not
having to make up large margins or come from behinds. in the losses this year the griz got outscored in the second half except for one. 14-6 at Wyoming, 10-0 at NDSU, 27-7 CP, 16-16 EW and 24-17 EW. not exactly second half adjustments you would like to see against formidable teams on your way to NC or to maintain your top tier program.
i know, i am expecting alot..........i believe the griz have had great players over the last few years since hauck...........just would like to see us return to the level that we were at when phlugrad was here.

Yeah, your numbers really do stand up. I tip my cap to your research and will give my head a shake. Adjustments on the fly certainly sound like something Coach Stitt prides himself on, at least from the way he spoke at the Press Conference. Can't wait to see it in action.
