The TV and Texas Media gave Cooper and the Montana Grizzly Football Program a lot of love last night. And Cooper’s response to that was “that it’s not the player that makes the program- it’s the program that makes the player, it’s a two way avenue and that’s why the Griz win”. Pretty mature for a 17 year old kid. Very proud of this young man. Montana attitude playing in Texas.

I always loved football players that also wrestled in high school, especially on the Dline. They have a special nastiness and drive that other players lack. They understand leverage and how to get and keep a low base and explode through the offensive player with their hips. They learn hand-fighting and have a strong grip.

Ryan Featherston comes to mind.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this young man in Maroon and silver! I hope the Griz can keep him, this era of OVERT big $$ buy your players college football sucks for continuity and for the fan base. I think it’d be difficult to stay positive coaching in today’s college environment. Hopefully, rules can be established and limit transfers, and or require any NIL $ to be repaid if a player transfers within a certain timeframe, something to establish more certainty.
