Interesting stats (both bad for Nebraska):uofmman1122 said:Wow, feel bad for those receivers. You can kinda see the frustration on their faces. More of the same for the Huskers.

Their O-Line sure looked aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwful.IdaGriz01 said:Interesting stats (both bad for Nebraska):uofmman1122 said:Wow, feel bad for those receivers. You can kinda see the frustration on their faces. More of the same for the Huskers.
(1) Martinez was 16 of 32 passing for 232 yards (14.5 yards per reception). That combination suggests to me that the Illini were not especially worried about the pass. They were willing to give up a medium gainer now and then to contain the big play.
(2) Martinez was the Husker running attack. He gained 111 yards (with 75 of it on one play). Nobody else gained more than 33.
With a scatter-arm QB and no credible running game, things do not look good for the Huskers.

I want Samori to ball out, but damn...Tough to shine in on offense where the QB can't even make routine throws.
"Dead man walking" was one of the kinder(not!) descriptions I've read about Frost in the aftermath of this game. Few analysts think his team has the horses to be competitive against a Big Ten schedule. Some are hopeful that they can at least be mediocre if the team can just cut down on their mistakes at key moments.Brother Bear said:https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/nebraska-had-a-notable-change-at-practice-on-monday/ar-AANUjSg?ocid=entnewsntp
Frost and his coaching staff reportedly decided to remove music from Monday’s practice, instead hoping the players would bring the “energy” themselves. We’re sure this is going to fix all their problems. We don’t have much to say here other than it’s officially time to worry. This is the kind of decision high-school coaches make.
Fortunately for the Huskers, they have two winnable games over the next two weekends.

Also, for all his "storied" history as a player at Nebraska, many analysts doubt that he has the recruiting chops to bring enough top players to Lincoln to turn things around for the long run.
