NDSU to MWC

They’ve played 3 home and 1 away against Wyoming so it isn’t a true home and home. Wyoming is also a lot more interesting for their fans to travel to than Fargo. Good luck convincing fan bases to go up to Fargo.
You know the whole part of the “home-and-home” implies that a series be played at both venues at least once…

The $$ isn't identical for both Conferences, the Wazzu President said the new PAC deal is around 1/3 of the old PAC deal putting it between 7-8 Million, the MWC is only able to maintain the 3.5 Million per team due to the Exit fees ans now probably NDSUs contribution
Actually Wilner and other very pro PAC sources are say out might be under $6 million or less. Especially when counting in the cost of running the Pac Network

The PAC Network is gone I thought? I've seem some claims that the PAC Enterprises isus actually making the Conference $$ since they're producing games for Golden State, CAL, Stanford etc.

Chances are the PAC is going to poach another 1 or 2 MWC teams in 2030+ (I think Hawaii and UNLV for example) and Air Force would probably leave to join Army and Navy in the American. Assuming that happens what I'd like to see:

Montana...........MSU
Idaho................Davis
SJSU.................Nevada
UNM..................UTEP
Wyoming..........*NIU
*NDSU..............*SDSU
**GCU

* = FOOTBALL ONLY
** = NO FOOTBALL

That being said we along with MSU and the State BOR need to pull our heads out of our ass and get serious about looking to move up or there is a very good chance we will be left behind.
We’ve already been left behind.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Illinois State jump to the MAC for football only.. than the MVFC would try and grab Ferris State and Grand Valley State to fill in for them and NDSU.
Football only will be harder for Illinois State because they will need to find a new home for their other sports whereas South Dakota State or UC Davis would be a smooth plug in for football only.

I understand your point of view, but just maybe things will continue to evolve with college football and college athletics in general? Strange times right now due to NIL and mid majors don’t seem that appealing with no playoffs and bowl games going the way of the dinosaur. We shall see what happens. Really sad if NDSU only moves for football. Definitely makes the FCS a much weaker division and it was already watered down. I am starting to worry about attendance figures at games in the future. If the competition isn’t good, fans may sit the games out. I wouldn’t want to be in Haslam’s shoes, nor the BOR’s. Neither school had the money to move up.

Griz fans will fill the stadium no matter the quality of the opponent. This is one of the reasons main hall hasn’t been interested in moving up.

Yes, Griz fans and Boobcat fans seem to love that we're a plankton in the big sea. We're basically Division 2 now with all the best former FCS teams moving up. Oh boy, FCS playoffs will mean so much now?

They haver not released the financials. Several TV analysts think it is still a money loser and losing significant money for next year

Maybe somebody can enlighten me on the whole money issue. First off the enrollment for both UM and NDSU is approximately the same(NDSU 12,000 and UM 11,000); Montana as a state a bit more populated by 300,000 or so.

According to a quick AI search the cost of attendance at UM (in-state) is $31,000 while the cost at NDSU is $22,000. Out-State for UM is $58,000 with NDSU at $26,000.

UM averages roughly 7-8,000 more fans at home football games while demanding a higher ticket prices then NDSU. This alone is approximately $500,000 in additional revenue each year just in ticket sales based on 7 home games.

So, I guess what I'm getting at is how does NDSU seem to have so much more dollars than UM?

It isn't about current revenue streams. Also, NDSU has donations to cover most, if not all, of the fee.

Understand the donations of funding the upfront cost, are the NDSU alum that more wealthy and giving as the UM alum?

Also, we keep saying we don't have the funding for additional scholarships, while NDSU already supports 16 D1 sports to our 15 all while having a smaller revenue stream on the face of it anyways.
