Sure, I've been called a sugar coater, but the truth is: I'm not. I just think the Griz have the best program in the history of football and every other program isn't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I salute you, sir.

You know Box all jokes aside, I think most of Griz nation is hanging on to the mystique of Griz football as a distraction to what has happened on the field the past 5 years. Yes, it’s nice leading the nation in attendance, having the nicest stadium, etc., but I would trade all of it for the Griz to be the Griz again.
I wouldn't "trade it all". No need since we will have all that and an NC contending FB team in short order.

Bad fan.

I would gladly trade being "periodically date raped" for the "Griz to be the Griz again." And, no, that is not a "win at all costs" mentality. It's a "win-win" mentality.

I disagree. Griz football has been incredibly successful for 25 years. On top of the world, or near it, much of that time. Yes, down a bit in recent years, but far from being even close to mediocre. Most Griz fan are not hanging on some mystique. They understand sport and enjoy and support their team--through the great times and the less great times. They are not bad fans like the two of you and 420, and others. They don't bitch because Bobby Hauck took the team to 3 national championship games, but didn't win. They don't complain about the performances of the players. They don't complain incessantly about coaches. They don't assert that they are being objective by complaining about alot of things.

9-5, 10-3, 5-6, 11-3, 7-4, and top 20 rankings, with 2 coaching changes and considerable other turmoil, is hardly the end of the world.

Many Griz fans, like the 3 of you, are spoiled and unrealistic. They don't appreciate how well the Griz were doing in most years, and for many years--yet many were calling for a better conference, moving up, etc.

Having a great stadium, great atmosphere, big attendance, and great game-day atmosphere in town is special and something that no other FCS school has, including NDSU. Having so many home playoff games is also nice. I wouldn't trade those for anything.

UM football has a great tradition, and Missoula and the stadium are special on game day. The 3 of you need to learn how to appreciate that. You also need to learn how hard it was been the players, coaches and athletic department to achieve all of that.

I suppose you'll just continue with your complaining and nitpicking, while sitting anonymous behind a computer.
