NDSU Stats

Being a CPA sometime's I turn into a stat's geek. Not sure I have ever seen something like this.

NDSU leads the nation in total defense at 159 yards per game, yes 159 yards. Second in the nation is Illinois State at 219 per game, an increase of 60 yards per game going from number 1 to number 2 in the nation.

NDSU's offense ranks 5th in the nation at 509 yards per game. So NDSU is averaging 350 yards more on offense then they are giving up on defense.

Granted the teams besides EWU that they have played kind of suck (Mississippi Valley State 1-4, Robert Morris 2-3, Missouri State 1-4, Indiana State 0-5). It will be interesting to see what happens as they get to the meat of their conference schedule. They have Youngstown State on the road next week.

Wait, I thought only the Griz played cupcake teams

Nothing cupcake about the NDSU schedule. The beat the crap out of Eastern Washington on the road. It is just that all of their tough conference games are at the back end of their schedule. Their last 6 games are as follows;

10/14 At #3 Youngstown State
10/21 Home #18 Western Illinois
10/28 Home #21 Northern Iowa
11/ 4 At #9 South Dakota State
11/11 Home #6 South Dakota
11/18 At #7 Illinois State

NDSU is really good. Easily should be the favorite to win it all

Yes, they should. I mean, they've won, like, what, three out of the last five?

It’s easy to lose track of how many they won. Kind of like how hard it is to remember how many championship games the Griz pissed down their legs. How many is it again? 6 they have lost?

Have won 2 out of seven. We are desperately hoping for a chance to lose a sixth. Someday.

There is a team in Harrisonburg that may have something to say about that. Again.

Illinois State won't be #2 any longer after what NAU did to them.

Much easier to remember how classless NDSU fans are....like yourself

How am I classesless? By responding with a fact the Griz have lost a ton of championship games? It’s truthfully hard to remember how many. 5 or 6 right? Seems like every year in the past decade they were coming up second place.

I think he was referring to the "pissed down their legs" comment

Well sorry but that is a true statement. Clearly they were more talented several of those years but couldn’t get it done.

I think we should have won more as well. I am just pointing out what he may have understandably taken offense to.
