NDSU Presser

Imagine being asked and answering media questions in a civil manner. You know, like it mattered. Like other people were watching. Quite a novel concept.

The only bone I have to pick here is that he said the Griz had hundreds of explosive plays. Coach, have you watched the film?

He’s not lying. We do have 100’s of explosive plays. But for some reason Rosy seems to love about 6 plays that aren’t explosive. And run up the middle is the most popular of them.

Although it was nice in the second half when he opened the playbook up and attacked downfield, the run up the middle seemed to start working. Much easier when the defense has to start doing their jobs rather than just stop that play all the time.

An excellent interview. I hate to admit, but I have actually really liked all of the NDSU coaches over the last 15 or whatever years. The Griz need to raid that cabinet for a young coach.

Sounds like the Beezon are a little banged up also.

I really think we have to hit the edges against these guys. Don’t try running up the middle. Use Bergen and Flowers on end arounds and screens all day. That is your run game.

Will Rosey actually do that tho??? Doubt it. Been hoping for it all year.

Yep. REALLY became easier to run when Johnson took off on that 25 yarder early in the 3rd. He hadn’t run all day, and that made SEMO have to sit up and take notice, accounting for him in the offense.

You don't allow a little hyperbole in your "civil" pressers?

He did say Luepke was not available this week.

Those runs up the middle have a cumulative impact on the energy of the defense. They were clearly gassed by the end of 3Q. This is a main objective of a BH game plan. This is one of the times it worked.

Funny as hell. The kick and punt returns turned the game around period.

Absolutely. But doing it Hauck's way seems like it would lend it self more to snowballs at ten paces.

I was thinking the same thing. Yeah, I understand that special teams are a big part of the game, and have bit us in the ass in a few games this season. But honestly, if we have to rely on scoring two TDs on special teams to win a game, we won't win too many of them expecting two TDs from them.
