If there were truly such a deep chasm between our programs, you wouldn't even bother, just like you probably never thought to do this on, say, the Portland State football board.

Jim Kramer was THE REASON the NDSU football program was so successful bar none. He just retired. You can't replace or recreate Jim Kramer. Let's see how successful NDSU is in 5 years.

Since NDSU joined the FCS and to just prior to joining (2003) we are just 2-4 against them. Prior to 2003 the last time the 2 teams met was 1970. Your link and numbers are based on lifetime which started in 1914. I was just bringing in modern timeframe.

Oddly, there is a guy in my office building with and NDSU sticker on his car who I have seen wearing Griz gear. I always assumed he was the one and only, but maybe there are more than I thought.

It is a neighboring state to ND. Had family attend Montana. Also when NDSU was a D2 program, it was the FCS school I rooted for.
And I think people like you are delusional, unrealistic, windmill chasers, and Pollyanna's. And don't have a clue about economics. Someday, the situation for UM and FCS may change. UM is in a better position with facilities than it used to be.
Or people who realized that the FCS is on a death spiral and really weren’t excited about seeing NDSU play in places like Cheney Washington anymore ….
