ND State at EWU Game thread

EWU needs to just let Gubrud do his thing. Their offense has just looked lost except for the last drive that ended in a field goal.
 
Gubrud looks flat bad right now. There's obvious growing that needs to happen with him and the WR corp. I still think they'll be right in the mix of things in the end fighting for the big sky. Give them some time for the staff to get on the same page. There's still a lot of talent on that team.

When we play them I think our d line needs to be dominant against their o line cuz as of today their line has issues

Really? I thought the exact opposite. Beat at that time the #11 ranked FBS team Iowa. Had a rash of very bad injuries, including arguably the two best defensive players in the FCS in Nick DeLuca and Nate Tanguay, and still were in the position late in the semifinal game against JMU to win. Considering what players were lost, I thought it showed how deep and talented that team was.

They will likely never be AS dominant but come on, nobody wins freaking 5 championships in a row. Shit, even in not winning it all, I would still tell you that team is better than 2012 or 2015's national championship teams. You don't go into Iowa and win without being a special team. You are kidding yourself though if you don't think they will consistently be a national championship contender for the forseeable future. Too much tradition, fan support, and institutional support to suggest otherwise.
 
The Bison are exactly who I thought they would be. Run the ball, hard, right at you, until they hurt half your team and you give up. They are a force again this year.

I am interested in hearing from any EWU fans who still think they will have no drop off after having lost two (almost three) NFL caliber WRs and most of the coaching staff. Eh? You out there?

Well they haven't been as dominant since 2013 but you are talking about a historic FCS team. Them or Marshall take your pick as all time great.

In terms of drop off though, last year's team was better than 2014 or 2015. Just ran into too many injuries and those injuries happened to be not only the best players on their team, but some of the best players in the FCS.

They have won their first two games by an average of 56-10. What more do you think they could do?

Look at my post again. I said its early but they dont look impressive so far and they didnt. Must have improved second half which I did not watch. I still dont think any of your prior teams would have looked that poor at any time. You already agreed that they are not as dominant as the past so we seem to be saying the same thing. Enjoy your season

Dude, you dug your own grave when you didn't simply heap praise on UNDSU from the get. The T-Buffs have alerts sent for any comment that isn't completely complimentary.

Then, you doubled down? Listen, t hey are a very emotional bunch. It's like with your wife, sometimes it's better just to pretend you're wrong and let her have her way. But it can't just be, "Yes, T-Buffs, I don't know what I was thinking. You have the best team in the history of the world." Then, they get all mad and accuse you of being sarcastic. You have to find that delicate balance to appease the delicate flower.
