Just noticed on ESPN.com that they have the Lady Griz projected as 12 seed in the West facing Clemson in the first round. We are also getting 3 votes for the top 25. Good job Lady Griz!!

The Lady Griz are playing incredibly right now. If they don't lose another all season (which is a good possibility) they'll only have 4 losses. I can't see the selection committee ignoring that. Their RPI is 41 at the moment, which pans out as a 9 or 10 seed. You'd almost like a 12 seed though. That way, you open with a beatable 5 seed (20-25 ranking i.e. Utah), and then get a 4 seed in the second round. With a 9 or 10 seed, you may get an easier opening round, but then you'll have to play a top ten team in the second round.

Consider all of this before the chance that the Lady Griz could be playing these first two rounds in Dahlberg Arena.

A Sweet Sixteen run could be in the making folks.

That would be soooo sweet.

WB: You should hire Kevin Engellant from Western....he knows talent and is a great coach...

I would take just about anyone over Robin Potera-Haskins....Nobody (that I have talked to) on compus (including her players, Athletic Dept. Administration, faculty...etc) likes her. She is a freakin psycho. The person that I'd love to see have her job is Brian Orr (sp?). He was McCarthy's first assistant a couple of years ago. His players loved him, and many of them think that he was a better x's and o's coach than McCarthy.

AND he never made any comments about being the "new dominant team in the state of Montana." She's an idiot, and her comments are Far dumber than those that Kramer makes. Kramer isn't even in the same ballpark as Potera when it comes to stupid comments. If we would have had ANY other coach, I guarantee you that Katie Edwards would be a bobcat, as well as Dana Conway and Mandy Morales. Potera scared them away.

Hey, don't knock Potera too much. The Lady Griz received 5 points in the CNN/USA Coaches poll. Potera is on the board of coaches that votes and I figure those points the Lady Griz received are from her (or at least some of the points).

Other things to consider:

1. two years ago, the Lady Griz won their first 8 games in conference, but second half wasn't so nice. This year is a little different in that Lady Griz have more home games in the second half, and Brooklyn Lorenzen is having a MVP type year.

2. Just because UM is hosting the first two rounds, doesn't mean the NCAA will place the Lady Griz in Missoula. Most likely they will be in Missoula if Lady Griz win the Big Sky tournament. If an at large bid, the Lady Griz may have to travel. Someday, though, women's NCAA will become closer to the Men's in that the host school cannot play at their home court. Women's regionals I believe are at that point now, but the sub-regionals are not.

Orr would also be a good choice....I have gotten to know both Brian and Kevin through the recruiting process and they are great people...Mike Divilbiss from Idaho ( At LC State before Orr) is also a great coach. He has turned Idaho around in one year.
