NCAA to increase scholarships for sports (football roster going to 105)

The FCS national championship is not a participation trophy. It is a huge accomplishment.

Playing in a low level bowl game is closer to a partition trophy.

Who you would like to watch the Griz play doesn’t support the point you were trying make.

UM played multiple very good teams last season. The majority of teams played were good.
I disagree. The Griz played good teams in the playoffs. Unless the sky falls, UM is almost always going to be all but guaranteed a 1-5 place finish and have since forever. MSU, Idaho, Sac State, EWU (not lately) UM, and Weber (occasionally) are the only real competition in the BSC. The rest just fill up Saturdays in the fall.

We're all entitled to our own opinions.

South Dakota State was ranked higher than all of those schools in the Sagarin.
Big deal. They are still FCS. Period. The FCS is like a high school/junior high dance. There are those of us who are not afraid of:
1) Leaving the basement and going to the dance in the first place.
2) Not sitting on the benches wishing we were bold enough to at least stand and dance in place.
3) Not the people who dance in place who want to be on the dance floor but are afraid.
4) Those of us on the dance floor and don't give a crap what we look like because we can't dance, but we aren't afraid to be out there.
5) Those of us who can dance and are tearing up the dance floor.
6) Those of us who were bold enough to do all of those things, and are part of the cool kids crowd now, because we were not afraid, and refused to settle for less.

In FBS about 15 teams are relevant each year. That leaves 100 + in the same boat as UM. Another 15 can get in the first 15 depending on the year and recruiting classes. When those that are willing to run 100 million dollar payrolls form their own division and leave the rest is the time to get in a reorganized 2nd tier.

Where is this money coming from ? apparently you think it falls from the sky.

If UM had the money to move up, the future revenue looked good and positive, a reasonable FBS conference made an offer, and travel time/costs weren't ridiculous, do you think the UM administration would not support moving up? The problem seems to be that all of those factors are problems. Maybe Mountain West travel would be okay.

This has been belabored. We all have our own ideas where we would like to see the program. I night just be that I am self-centered and, living in Ohio, would like to see the Griz move up so I can see them play live more than once a year.
