Chris Spoja is who I would compare this kid to. Chris was a dominating high school player and if it wasn't for the injuries in Missoula he would have had a spectacular career.

No disrespect but I think you are WAYYYY off base with the Spoja comparison. He was a great talent, but almost the exact opposite physically from WIley. Spoja was a thick 6'4"-6'5" guard who had a ton of strength and bounce. Wiley is taller, way longer and looks to be more of a traditional 3-4 defensive swingman who will score in transition. A redshirt will do wonders for this guy and who knows if he grows another couple of inches over the next two years.

Derek Pope when he got on campus, and before he put on some muscle.

If I were to compare Jake Wiley to an ex-Griz player I would compare him to Roger Fasting. Roger was very athletic with good hops, good range and long. I think their body styles are very similar with Roger maybe a little shorter. I think they are also pretty comparable in open court and in their slashing style to the hoop. Roger was a real "gym rat" that would live in the gym and constantly worked on his overall game. I hope Jake will do the same. Roger's work habits helped him be a real winner and a member of one of the best teams that the University of Montana has ever had.

One thing I have learned over the years is that listed height means nothing. A 6'6" listing may be a 6'4" in actuality. However a player described as "long" is usually "long".

He definitely looks like a good get. Way to go Tinks.
