NAU vs. SDSU

NAU might have played better with their head coach on the sidelines. But how does a team that won 9 games, which supposedly has a stud RB (he did gain over a hundred, BTW), get their asses kicked ... and fail to gain even a hundred yards rushing, net. Pitiful.

As for some whiny fans: STFU!

Furthermore, we did loose to them. That's what makes me sick.

But, as my wife just said: The Griz improved over the season, virtually week to week, while NAU did little more than "tread water" ... or even regressed.

When Poe came out that was the end of any threat of a passing game from NAU, so South Dakota State just focused all their attention on stopping Bauman. He had something like 116 yards rushing on 15 carries in the first half (not exactly that, but close to it), and -15 in the 2nd half.

In the 3rd quarter their drives were:
3 plays for -10yds & then a Punt
4 plays for 27yds then a Fumble
1 play for -3yds resulting in a Safety
3 plays for -14yds and then a Punt

So in the 3rd quarter they had exactly 0 yards total offense.

In the 4th they started out with a great 3 play -6 yard drive with a punt. By the time they got the ball back with 7 mins to go in the game and had to just air it out they brought Poe back in... it was 26-7 and pretty much over. They capped off a great performance by finally getting some positive yards in the 2nd half (103 on their last 2 drives) but ending them both with INTs.

Probably still would have lost with Poe out there all game, but who knows... once the passing threat disappeared that was the end of Bauman having any holes to run through.

It's the Yale Effect. Big Sky looks to be a bit of a fraud......maybe EWU the only legit threat.
Griz still looking for a signature win.

Who is Coastal's signature win?

Didn't read all the posts on this thread but thought I saw the NAU drew about 7000. Is that because it's a holiday or is that pretty standard, it seems low for a play-off game. What's up with that?

Was hoping NAU would represent the Big Sky a bit better than this. Pretty MSU style of choke game in the playoffs. Lame.
