Nope. They aren't that good. When we beat them with a 3d-4th string QB and a 11th string secondary on Saturday, there will be a lot of pissed off "Griz fans" posting "yeah, but . . ." posts.

Have you watched them play? I haven't.
They beat a pretty good IL St. team badly.grizzcabin said:NAU has beaten the bottom of the big sky Psu 0-5, cal poly 0-5, UnC 1-4, ucd 2-3 and sac st 3-2. So are they that good? Fire away
grizzcabin said:Yes they did kick the shit out of Illinois state. I was talking about big sky play.
They have the Montanas and SUU to finish the year. If they can navigate that successfully, they're good enough. Their November history is not favorable to them, but they've not always had a Cookus. Preview Saturday.SoldierGriz said:Best QB in the league...
That's the problem IMO.

An Ill St team that is a little over rated. They also had it handed to them by a mediocre S Ill team and their sig wins are against a very cold YSU and a S Dak team that's starting to come back down to earth.

I think that November history is a little bit of a pipedream for some folks looking for hope. See it on MSU and EWU message boards too. The new NAU Offensive Coordinator keeps the foot on the gas regardless of the score. He gets better as the game goes on with his play-calling. I think in the recent past we've had a tendency to get too conservative, resulting in changing momentum negatively later in games. This guy doesn't do that.
Not sure how it's going to go on Saturday because it is very tough to play @ Montana, and they are talented. The perceived history of collapses won't play into how the game goes this Saturday, or the remaining two weeks.
Totally different NAU team this year.
