NAU radio guy

Have to give a big thumbs up to the NAU radio guy. Didn't seem like a homer at all, and read some pretty hilarious emails on the air. I read about one of the emails he read during the NAU / Cat game over on bobcatnation...and heard a similar email read during the Griz / Nau game. I couldn't believe he said it on the air :lol:

The story about one of the players that seemed to be the story of the "Fresh prince of bel air" that was emailed in was hilarious too. Big kudos to the person or people who emailed those two comments in. Had my laughing my ass off after both of them. :thumb:

Mitch is a Very Entertaining announcer! I bet he is the only announcer in the country that takes e-mails during the game. He also does a great job of selling a great play! Love how he makes the game fun even if it is lacking excitement! He is one of the best in the Big Sky along with Mick!

FWIW, Ben Catley, the Missoula Osprey announcer, takes emails during baseball games.

DexterX - Glad you enjoyed Mitch's playcalling. He's a bit of a homer at times but I never feel it's over the top. He supports the Lumberjacks, has some passion for what he does and wants NAU to win. Is that what should be heard on national (network/ESPN) broadcasts? Probably not as an objective outlook is expected then but I have no problem with local/regional broadcasters pulling for their teams.

I heard Mitch read the email from a Bobcat fan during Thursday's NAU-MSU game. There was some vague inferences towards a sexual practice popular in Japan hidden in some story the emailer wrote in. Use your imagination or take a scary adventure on the internet and I'll just leave it at that. Innapropriate it may have been it made me laugh out loud. Pretty sure Mitch is reading the emails on the fly so no time to read before a live broadcast.

For those out there who called the NAU football announcer a jerk/homer/etc...guess what.... it's the same guy. Mitch does radio for football and basketball.

I'm happy he's the voice of the Lumberjacks.

FWIW, Ben Catley, the Missoula Osprey announcer, takes emails during baseball games.

I would take emails if I was him too, there was more action in those than the Osprey provided on the field it appears.

It's obvious you don't follow the Osprey. They played for the league championship last September. It was a great year!
