Another loss to a bottom feeder. Sad.

So what does that make Montana?

It makes them not a very good team right now unfortunately. Basketball is certainly a game of matchups and I understand that, but there is no reason the Griz should have dropped this game at home. Offense, especially on the perimeter, was pretty much non-existent, defense wasn't rotating well and left shooters wide open, and frankly the Griz just seem to struggle at times against teams they should be beating. I don't quite understand that.

A top-tier bsc team who had a bad week. Shit happens.

4th or 5th place this late in the conference season doesn't make us top tier. Middle of the pack is more like it. Bart Torvik ratings say we have a 10% chance to make the Big Dance and that we would be a 16 seed. It says the Cats are at the top of the BSC and have a 36% chance to make the tournament and would represent as a 14 seed. Sprinkle probably has a lock on the coach of the year award and the Cats likely will come to MSO and stomp on us if we don't improve a helluva lot in the next few weeks.

A team that struggles with bottom feeders apparently.

It means UM is now fifth in an eleven team conference with a game Saturday against a surging Portland State team. That is what it means.

I'll take the under.

Assuming all the games are played, which is a big if because this is the bsc (#bsc) and they've yet to figure shit out, the GRIZ will be a top 3 team entering the tournament. And beyond that, they're consistently a top-tier conference team.

Here's a little trivia: Name a bsc team who has been more consistent the last 3, 5, 10, 15 years. (Hint: don't take too much time thinking; there ain't one).

Here is my take on this. To be a good team and play at the top level takes playing with an edge. It's really hard to maintain that edge throughout a whole season. It's easy to let your guard down and relax a bit when you think you have things under control. At this time of the season even the bad teams are playing better together and can get up for a game now and then. Everyone is going to get smacked in the face a few times. It's how you respond that really matters.

I'd bet that your team will get back up and make a fight out of this thing. It seems to be their nature.

Talt from nau looks super punchable.

I agree, Towt was a very un-likeable, punk villain, BUT he got the last laugh and played inspired the whole game and was just the kind of inside menace that we lack.

The tourney is in Boise. There's no home-court advantage for anybody. All we need is to be in the top 5 for a bye. It's all about how we play in the tourney PERIOD! Torvik (and everybody else) has no idea who will play 2 or 3 straight quality games when it matters. I think we have as good of a chance as anyone to do that. I think Weber is a slight notch above everyone else, but it'll definately be up for grabs for whoever plays the best in the tourney.
