Another fluke by Montana...We get a fumble recovered for a TD in the Endzone and it is called incomplete.....hmmm....homer call??? And then you win on a controversial interception, catch, out of bounds play.....WAgriz is a special place to play, when you have Montana on your uniform...what a joke...total garbage...and your big sky tv coverage sucks, all it shows is all the lame fans and your 8 mascots.

I love it...guess you have not even watched any of the replays...you would not be crying but I will give you the incomplete pass as it looked like JJ lost the ball before going forward but this is the Big Sky - you really expect good officiating? However, your name is very appropriate for the Jacks....crash

I had the pleasure of meeting the very pleasingly pretty mother of NAU's safety #38. She was a pleasure to chat with and was thoroughly enjoying her time in Zoo town. She and I cheered her team in as they walked in the visitor tunnel to begin the 2nd half. There were quite a few puzzled looks on the NAU players' faces seeing a NAU fan and Griz fan cheering them back into the stadium.

When you pull your head out, take a good look around. There's photo and video evidence that'll shut you up if you manage to come back to reality.

And who cares if ONE player was out for you. Dont care to tell you how many starters the Griz were missing, 'cuz it dont matter. Only those that see the field on Saturday do.

If Herrick had been able to play, I think the outcome would have been TOTALLY different.

Great Post! 16 players hurt certainly offsets one QB.

You know, you are absolutely correct about that, however I doubt the the results would have been different, especially if all the kids on the Griz sidelines that are in casts, on crutches, slings, etc, could have contributed in game as well as Herrick.

It's the end of October in college football, players are going to be hurt, teams and coaches have to adjust to get the win, and that is exactly what the Griz have accomplished so far this year, just as they have done in the past.

Go Griz, keep on winning, while fans are are looking for excuses for your success.

With that said, NAU is the best team we face this year, with or without Herrick.

I gotta say, I think my favorite play from the highlights against NAU has to be the block by Burton downfield on the Atkins reverse. Lights out

Love it - great block! I've watched that in replay 3 times now - he absolutely levels the DB and doesn't lose a step in the process.

what about IF jabin played all game. or IF we had selle or IF dan moore didnt get hurt or If TJ didnt sit our part of the game or IFwe did not lose 10+ players this year so far. Herrick would not have hit any more passes that this kid missed. in fact that kid made some throws most QBs would not be expected to do so take oyur what ifs and shove em

Moore is out. Make Burton a short yardage back. :thumb:

a) "...a fumble recovered for a TD in the Endzone..." In the NFL, you would most probably be correct. Just as much as saying a reciever has to have both feet in-bounds on a reception while in the NCAA only one foot is required. The NCAA evidently has different rulings than the NFL. Rules and the game are one and the same. It works for both teams.
b)"...then you win on a controversial interception, catch, out of bounds play..." That's about the only contention NAU could bring up: whether the pass was intercepted or actually received by the WR. In a tie, the ruling goes in favor of the offense. That's the ruling for all teams across the FCS and NCAA nation. Whether NAU fans such as yourself appreciates it or not. Where was the NAU coaching staff's opinion on that play if it was so controversial?

Besides, if it wasn't for a 'safety that wasn't' the score would have been NAU 19 - 17 at the time. The Griz with a first-n-goal for a 25 - 30 yd chip shot FG. Griz would have won 20 - 19 anyways.

Another besides: if you want 'homer refs' the Griz woulda won 122 - 0, easy. You want the statistical recap?

yds on offense
Griz 1,255
NAU -214

penalties yds
Griz 0
NAU 545

time of possession
Griz 55 min
NAU 5 min

Them thar are 'homer ref' stats turkey.

Pflu made one of the greatest decisions in the history of Griz football by letting NAU score that TD. The Pflu crew knew they needed the ball back asap. This game was won with a superior call to let them score and superior Pflu-ball execution in the final 2 minutes.

The object of the game is to out score your opponent. You don't do that by allowing the other team to score. Period. The Griz were just lucky in a number of regards: that when NAU did score their last TD that there were 2:00 minutes or so left in the game and an opportune kickoff return got the Griz near midfield enough to relieve some pressure on the offense on a shorter field. That was on NAU's rookie QB and their coaching staff to score and rely on their defense, which was pretty stout up to then, to hold the Griz out of the endzone where a FG wouldn't have won the game. Pretty good odds to gamble with up to then, I would say. To think the Griz 'allowed' NAU to score is delusional and conceited beyond all bounds. Get real.

If you don't think that has ever happened you don't watch much football.

Which would you rather have: The ball, 3 timeouts, 2 minutes & down 4 OR the ball, no timeouts, 40 seconds & down 1. Nobody knows for sure if the Griz let NAU score, but if they did it was a damn good move, otherwise NAU milks a bunch of time off the clock, the Griz burn all of their timeouts & NAU kicks a go ahead field goal.

Formerly, WMC, did it a few years ago in the NAIA playoffs. Possibly you are the one that is delusional, conceited and needs to get real. BTW, hope Pflu answers the question in the coach's show.

I'm not saying that that's never happened, one can easily cite Marty Morhninweg's decision to kick the ball instead of receiving it in overtime when he was HC of the Detroit Lions, but when it comes to 'Game Theory' it is most definitely bad policy. You try to outsmart the opponenet most times 9 out of 10 you outsmart yourself. It certainly backfired on him, now didn't it? Besides, your hypothetical situation could have easily been..."what if NAU's QB recieves a bad snap from center in the shotgun, as if that didn't happen before previously in the game, and this time is sacked for a loss instead of completing a pass?

Yeah, right, I'll stand by my words and anaylsis if you don't mind; as if everyone that has ever coached in hs and/or college, let alone the NFL has been correct on any and all of their decisions. You do that while your're on the firing line in the military and you're 'dead meat.' And don't tell me the military doesn't have recourse to 'Game Theory' as well. You tell me the difference between 'Game Theory' in war and social dynamics and being a part of a 'game,' as you all call it, wherein the rules and the game are one and the same? Not everything is contingent upon your 'ego,' regardless of what you sell your conscience unto, whether a company, a State, a person and/or species or a 'game.' You can never adjudicate an 'intangible,'Speculative Reason can not confine the Unconditional; to allow a score and nonchalantly 'assume' even with time of two minutes left that you're going to naturally score a TD regardless is nonsensical mayhem. Especially considering the fact that turnovers happen on both sides of the ball and the Griz haven't exactly convinced me that they can never ever throw an interception nor yet alone fumble the ball away in haste to appease a spoiled fan base of arm chair QBs sitting in front of a boobtube and/or laptop 7-24-365. Such 'expertise' quakes of shallowness when called upon to back up their words in place on hiding underneath their beds poking away at someone's backside. Cite the example of a fool and you get a bunch of fools following it.

It almost sounds like he took an extension course from MSU.
