NAU at Montana Predictions

Tye and the defense will show up ready to get after it. That said the offense has to move the chains and get some 1st downs then score when inside the red zone . Question is can they? With this being a must win game, at home, in front of a good crowd I think the offense will do enough to win this game. To much talent on the field not to. My words to the offensive line.......get your heads out of your collective asses, toughen up and do your jobs  With that said

Go Griz!!

Well, since Jerome has beat the Griz in his last two contests, and since the Griz are now a work in progress, and coach Stitt is not equipped with the athletes he needs to run his offense "by the concensus of this forum" and will not modify to the athletes he has, and by losing our last two games with athletes that went two deep in the playoffs last year with ahead coach that for the majority of his career was a volunteer position coach,
I hope the athletes step up make fewer mistakes and make a good game of it, and perhaps pull off what they did against NDSU.

However with sidelined injured athletes, this will be a challenge. GO GRIZ

From the Monday night, Grizzly Sports Report:

Reporter - "Jamall, a tough loss, obviously. If you look back at it, a lot of missed opportunities. As a player and a captain, how much more do those games sting where it's not that you just got outplayed, it's a few missed opportunities you didn't take advantage of?"

Jamaal Jones - "It stings a lot, especially when we know that it was our fault that we lost. We could have done thing to have changed the outcome. So as a senior leader, I am going to work to try to fix those things and see what I can do to make the team better, and just start from scratch."

Reporter - When we got back from that game, a couple of your teammates on twitter, Nate Harris just tweeted out "relax". And I think that's kind of a mantra of a lot of people. What are your thoughts, and what's the mindset of this team going forward after what I am sure you guys would quantify as a disappointing first 3 games?

Jamaal Jones - "I see what Nate is saying when he says "relax", but there are things that we do need to realize that we're just not doing right, and we need to take care of right now. And we necessarily just can't really relax because we said that last week (Cal Poly) and we got the same out-come, so we have to figure out how to fix the small things and get everybody doing everything right. Not just a couple guys, but everybody."

I haven't picked one correct yet this year. So with that in mind, NAU 27 GRIZ 24.
You're welcome.
By the way, I did pick Griz to be 2-2 after the first four. Hope I get that one right!
GO GRIZ!

QB is critical to jump starting Stitts scheme......a short week may not be enough to prep up #2!

I see this as a struggle but a winnable game, IF oline provides some time for decision making AND we don't hurt ourselves with turnovers.

A close one US 28. them 24

This game scares me, especially given our recent struggles. NAU proved a few years back they can come into Missoula on homecoming and beat the Griz, so an upset here wouldn't come as a shock to most. Losing your starting QB also hurts coming into a game like this, especially with the struggles Chadlich had against Liberty. Having a full week of #1 reps should help, but will it be enough to put together consistent drives and points? The optimist in me wants to believe the Griz will start to put things together, but then again we've seen this happen several times in a coach's first year. Here's to the offense putting up enough points to pull this one out.

GRIZ - 21

Northern Arizona - 20

NAU 49
Griz 17

A bad OL is not going to help a backup QB or our running game our OL is pure poppycock plain and simple

I'm not convinced that NAU defense is as good as any of the 3 we have seen thus far. That being said, perhaps the Oline does a bit better opening holes and providing protection for CC. Big game from the backs this week in total yards (not all rushing) as well as a couple of the receivers. Griz defense better this week as well. Griz 30-21 win.

You give me the Griz +28 and I'll take any bet you want..

Even with Liberty playing deep our WRs got behind them. Red zone drought ends. NAU frosh corner in for a long day. D shows up big.
Griz by 20.

With both starting QB out, I am think this might be a offensively ugly, defense battle with lots of turnovers. Punters get a workout.

UM 15 NAU 10

Good catch, Stitt likes to pick on weak corners. After the NDSU game I thought #5 might break out in tears.

Griz will go crazy and get the offense together...they will score over 40 this game and win big...time to put up or shut up!

I see a big win for the griz at home in this one. Chalich will secure the starting role for the remainder of the season (with 350yds and 4tds). 37-14 griz.

Jamaal Jones said that the Liberty corners were playing flat-footed, and that is why he asked the Griz coaching staff to send him (Jamaal) deep. Which equaled the 70-yard touchdown he had (although he got run-down and had to break a tackle to get into the endzone).
