With their win over EWU today, NAU moves to 5 wins and 3 losses in the Big Sky Conference and finished tied for fourth with UC Davis. They were winless when they beat the Griz early-on for the only loss the Griz had this year. In retrospect, that loss for the Griz may have been a blessing in disguise. It certainly seemed to wake the hibernating bear. They have improved incredibly since then. And now in hindsight, it appears NAU was not quite so bad a team as they appeared early on. Not to make excuses for the Griz loss to NAU, but 1) thank you Griz for learning a lesson and making the most of it, and 2) congrats to NAU for the success they have had this year (after all, Jerome Souers was an assistant coach for us, too).
